At the end of the day, given the circumstances, this team overachieved and besides the stars of the team, they should be proud.
Joe's reputation is tarnished by this game 7 though, looks like he's surrounded by yes-men.
Well at least he gets extended recovery time. Hope he gets 110% good over the summer.

The timing sucked, yes. But why risk any type of setback heading into the offseason? Or if we did win G7, would it have been worth JT regressing in his recovery? It’s a basic compensatory injury. Due to the weakness (still has a ways to go strength wise) in his Achilles, he basically overcompensated with his good leg causing discomfort. Klay Thompson and Kobe had similar experiences.

🍀💚Overall, this was a really fun season to watch. The team exceeded expectations. It was fun seeing all the deep bench guys grow. Remember how they put away Paolo and Franz in the final reg game where zero vets played. Plus it has been fun to see Jaylen have an All NBA and MVP conversation year. Super proud of the Celtics. They should not be defined by this one series when they were supposed to have a gap year!!!
The ONLY good thing while this team sorts out how they lost all 3 in a row with this fafo ……. was JT now has all off season so it doesn't get worse and he gets feeling like 90% f his self by tip off next season. To answer you question if it have been possible to play Tatum less. NO! Don't you know how important the regular season is for seeding and home court advantage!? They really NEEDED those games to secure 2nd seed. Just like they did in 2023 and their 1st seed in 2025. Folks, if the last 4 years of playoffs didnt tell you loud enough, I'll say it again: regular season doesn't matter. seeding doesnt matter, home court hardly exists. Ask Denver, ask the Celtics, ask the Heat, etc etc. etc. Plenty of teams get away with getting into the 6th-8th seed and then either knock off the top seed or bring it to game 7. AND Joe might win coach of the year – that's the relevance regular season has to playoffs. Joe Mazulla, the hero of 2023, 2025, and 2026 playoffs might be coach of the year! The regular season is as reflective of playoffs as the all star game MVPs of actual MVPs.

Do you have confidence in Joe vs Spoelstra (23), Thibs (25), or Nurse (26)? All among the best coaches. I don't have confidence in Joe. With that said, the Sixers were more talented – their best 3 is better than Celtics best 3.
Season went better than I expected. It was fun to watch plus younger guys got some very valuable experience. Looking forward to next season go Celtics!
if this was a gap year like you say, then WHY not go for 7th-8th seed and get a better pick? WHy work all season to get 2nd seed? Please explain why this 1st round exit is better than exiting as 8th seed? Much better draft position in the 8th seed.
