Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers embarrassed in the opening game, 137-98, at the hands of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York Knicks. The Knicks came out with punching and the Sixers were never able to hit back to make it a game. Brunson got off to a hot start and finished with a game-high 35 points for New York. Nick Nurse has a history of not using his bench. This game is a product of him using these guys 40 min a game and not using the same players that held this team together when the entire starting lineup was injured throughout the season. He'd better get his bench involved in this series, or they'll get swept.
