  1. If I couldn't get a good experienced coach on this team, I'd run a Hail Mary and see if CP3 were interested. He's probably got a lot to prove and might be highly motivated.

  2. Answer to the thumbnail? No, this is not an appealing job IMO. Why would any coach that has a good track record want this job? This team is locked into this core salary wise, pushing up against the second apron this offseason BEFORE they even do anything. Orlando already has a bad contract on the books (Jalen Suggs) in an era where bad contracts are PUNISHING. There's no true PG on the roster, and the C position can be upgraded, but Orlando might not be able to make those necessary moves to upgrade the roster. All of those 1st round picks? Gone. Yes, Desmond Bane was their best player this season, but he's not the guy you bring in FOR THAT PRICE. 4 1st rounders is not what you pay for a borderline All-Star; that's a trade package for a superstar, and Bane is simply put not that

Their supposed best players, Paolo and Franz, both have their flaws and don't fit especially well on the court. Franz is injury prone, and Paolo (even though he had 45 and Game 5 and 38 in Game 7) is still one of if the most inefficient offensive players in basketball– take him outside of right underneath the basket and Paolo's efficiency tanks. Franz is injury prone, and we went through another season where Orlando was a better team when Paolo was OFF THE FLOOR. And neither of them are great playmakers (or shooters for that matter), and Paolo is inconsistent on defense, to put it nicely. Oh yeah, and starting next season both of them will be on max extensions despite the fact that neither of them are max players– at best they're 2s or MAYBE a 1B on a contending team, not a top 10, surefire 'best player on a championship team' material. Mosley wasn't a great coach, and he probably should have gotten the boot, especially after that horrendous showing that was the second half of Game 6, but Orlando can't fire the coach and expect everything to be all sunshine and rainbows– there are much bigger issues here

So a team that doesn't fit well together, no first rounders left to trade, and no real exciting young players… all of this just to be in a similar position to where Orlando has been the last couple years: a good team, but a play-in team that's more often than not a first round exit. And again, they're out of moves, but now they're paying this team as if it's a top 4 team in the East that can contend for the ECF when in reality this team is a play-in team (And no, a fully healthy Franz doesn't alter Orlando's fortunes THAT much). Unless they break up Paolo and Franz, which they won't do, but they should trade Paolo IMO, Orlando is in checkmate.

  3. Idk man I’m still a believer in the magic but I think they have to break up the core and trade suggs. He reminds me way too much of Marcus Smart I also think they need to find some way to have a good defensive center that doesn’t go missing offensively. In my opinion they should build the team with Anthony black, bane, paolo, franz and draft a center this year to either develop eventually into a starting center or to start right away. Franz sadly may be on the Aaron gordon path where he’s too valuable to trade because of the team identity but he misses a lot of game because of injury

  4. Also as a MSU fan i’m infuriated with the lack of playing time for jase who’s a good combo guard that can shoot and play good defense he should be the backup pg

  5. " the bane trade hasn't panned out" rachel you haven't watched nearly enough magic game, bane worth every penny, you clearly don't know what your talking about

  6. My top dream picks for the magic in order (I know not realistic for some coaches):

    Joe Mazzulla

    Ime Udoka

    Erick Spoelstra

    Steve Kerr

    JJ Redick

    Jason Kidd

    John Calapari

    Steve Nash

    Mike Krzyzewski (Coach k)

    Dan Hurley

    Tyronn Lue

    Mark Daigneault

    Nick Nurse

    Billy Donovan

    Jay Wright

    Brad Stevens

    Chris Paul

    Rajon Rondo

    Taylor Jenkins

    Mike Van Gundy

    Penny Hardaway

    Stan Van Gundy

    Rick Pitino

    Sam Cassel

    Mark Jackson

    Tim Legler

    Mike D'Antoni

    Tom Izzo

    Tiago splitter

  7. I think Mark Jackson would be a good choice. He probably isn't the best guy for X's and O'S but these kids need someone to inspire them to be great. They have the talent but I hated their body language when they would lose leads and I hated how lazy they looked coming out of half times.
