  1. @cyro forget jakob poeltl, if he was tradeable cheap, he would have been moved at trade deadline. the reports after trade deadline was teams want 2 unprotected picks each to eat jak or IQ contracts, and then you giving up more first round picks if anything good coming back. the raptors wont do that so consider them on the team till expiring contract years.

gradey dick's agent called the raptors front office basically after all star break and asked for a trade because they want him to get more playing time starting. bobby said no and darko basically DNP'd him after all star break, giving gleague players playing time while gradey sat in the pine in the 2nd half of season and in playoffs. so gradey is on his way out.

the reality is having ingram and mamu cut out gradeys playing time because gradey is pure ass on defence, and he wasnt hitting his shots when he played.

Ingram doesnt fit into darko's system. he processes the game slow, and he plays slow, slowing down the raptors offence that wants to play fast. ingram isnt a good passer either and doesnt make the right passes when he is doubled. I think if ingram is moved, its for cap reasons because they dont want to give ingram a raise after next season where he has a player option. they are not gonna go into another fred vanvleet or siakam situation where they get low balled or lose the player for nothing in a player they really dont want to give a raise to. because the raptors are in a tough cap situation. Also after how RJ played in playoffs, i think they prefer to keep RJ and give him his extension rather than trade him, because he does something no one else on the raptors does. He is aggressive all the time and attacks the rim.

I believe also Ingram throwing the coach under the bus after game 1 of playoffs likely raise a red flag for bobby. ingram basically said he wont set screens or play off ball for darko on this raptors team. and ingram is going into a contract year so it means he will be doing what he does more, which is iso ball and chucking up shots for his big bag he wants.
and the raptors saw that movie before with siakam and fred in their contract years. so i dont think bobby wants to see that movie again.

as i told you before Rogers owns the raptors in MLSE. and Rogers and MLSE is in cost cutting mode in this economy. so Rogers wont pay the tax for the raptors, because they pay players in usd and take a 30 percent hit on the currency exchange while making profit in canadian. so rogers wont give up the 20 million in revenue sharing for staying under the tax, unless the raptors have been to the conference finals first.

to show you how cheap Rogers is, he asked 10000 of his employees in rogers communications to take early retirement because he doesnt want to pay them. rogers is also suing larry tannenbaum who is the executor of his mothers estate, because he doesnt want to pay him and wants him to work for free.

so the cap situation is why RJ or BI will be traded. RJ showed he was willing to change and adapt to fit darko's system, where BI really didnt try to change to fit darko's system. Although BI talented, he really doesnt fit darko's system because he plays slow, and processes the game slow, and isnt a good passer, and doesnt make the right pass when he is doubled because his court awareness isnt where it needs to be.

It may be RJ because in the end, he is the cheapest contract and did well during the season, and excelled in the playoffs. so teams will have more interest in RJ than BI or IQ.

I hope they trade BI though. They cant afford to give BI a raise so kicking the can down the road only leads to a worse situation after next season if they do in terms of the cap. And extending BI to a 4 years contract wont age well with his tough shot diet and injury issues. They will just have 3 untradeable contract if they extend BI after next season. BI is too slow to attack the rim without a screen. So he really isnt a true number 2 scoring option like a siakam. he is slow and his handle isnt good and he is not agile like siakam to get to the rim by himself.

And at 28, BI has his ways set and wont change. He is unwilling to take more 3, and just takes tough mid range shots and doesnt attack the rim. and because his processing is slow, and he moves slow, he eats alot of clock. he isnt a good passer as well. BI also too old to fit the timeline when he doesnt fit darko's play style. BI wasnt willing to change his game to fit Darko's system basically. And he wont in his contract year either.

As well how do you trade RJ after that game winning moon shot. the fan base will riot. RJ sells more merch than BI.

So its a cap situation. they dont have the money to pay RJ. So they either trade RJ or BI. if they trade BI, and keep RJ, the raptors fan base in canada wont riot.

Also SB and RJ won and got to game 7 inspite of or without BI in the playoffs. and BI threw the coach under the bus as well. so thats why you have the situation you have now.

What will RJ get you in a trade. maybe a 10-20 range first round pick in 2026 draft now. couple of desperate teams in there in warriors. and if giannis willing to extend under a coach he liked during his championship run, they will be desperate and in win now mode so maybe RJ for kuzma and 9th pick.

BI's trade value is hard to tell. I would guess his value down and they wont get a top 4 pick they gave up for him, or even a top 20 pick. so BI is probably 20-30 range pick with expiring and matching salary to fix the cap situation after next season and get some breathing room.

Gradey will get you a late 1st in the 27-30 range or a 2nd round pick in the 31-35 range.

jamal shead may be on the way out also if he wants too much money. he may ask for 10-15 million a year in a new contract for 4 years.

masai really fawked up the raptors cap sheet before he was let go.

  2. @cyro in term so IQ, he is overpaid, and he isnt a pg. he is more of a shooting guard coming off the bench ideally, but he makes 32.5 million a year is the problem. IQ process the game slow and doesnt have the pg court vision, and he is short, so he often doesnt make the right pass. because he is short, he cant attack the rim either. so if IQ has the ball in his hand and he is your floor general, you are fawked because he dont make the right passes and he cant get to the rim to callapse the defence to create space. he also shoots from his chest, so he needs more separation to get his shot off because its blocked easily. and when IQ does try to attack the rim, he slows down when he gets close allowing the defender to get back and defend and likely block his shot. IQ as a defender, he kind of like gary trent jr. not a good defender, and IQ short so he is a defensive liability. IQ is skinny and undersized so he doesnt take physical play well as he will get bodied. Its why with knicks playoffs, IQ was horrible when the game slowed down and got more defensive and physical. during the regular season IQ is fine because no one guards him if he shoots the 3. but in playoffs they guard him so he has a bad time. kind of like ingram, they doubled and played skinny ingram physical in the playoffs with average smaller defenders, and ingram had a bad playoffs because he cant get separation to get his shot off and make the basket. max strus was giving ingram a tough time when he was playing ingram tight and physical in playoffs.

bobby wants tough hard nosed players who play defence, as you have seen from the last draft. and BI and IQ are soft. but IQ contract is unmoveable unless you give 2 unprotected picks, so IQ is here till his contract year.

  3. Raptors front office seem incompetent. The pay loads of money to mediocre players and refuse to sign valuable players (RJ Barrett). Amazing incompetence put them in this position. Who the heck thought Immanuel Quickley was a $175 Million player??????

  4. Orlando might the route 2 go..

Immanuel Quickley, Jacob Poeltl, Gradey Dick for Jalen Suggs, Anthony Black, Jonathan Isaac…
Honestly this deal solves both team problems, contract, shooting, defense guard liability.

  5. To make a decision to trade Grady is to do it too soon. I will use Deni Avdija as example who got traded and became a beast in Portland. Some player's take awhile to breakout. All that said I get it. Does he fit in this system? Maybe the pressure is too excessive for him to excel right now. Truth is his 3pt shot is not the best right now which severely cost him his minutes played. It will be difficult finding a balance but where there is a will there is a way

  6. The total contracts for next season is under the current max cap.
Decide between Grady or Battle but not both so input needed from the Coach. Grady is also good trade bait something to consider.
Garret wants to return but his playing days are well behind him so turn him into an assistant coach.
Sandro and Jamal need to be extended for sure.
I think there is a good upcoming big man in the 905 team plus AJ Lawson.
Good back up big man would be Toronto Born Dwight Powell from Dallas and dropping Trayce Jackson-Davis who is a bust for sure.

  7. Possible package could be Ingram,, Jakob, Grady and second round draft pick for Giannis and a decent bench player.
Works out to be an almost dollar for dollar trade when totaled up.

  8. Jordan Poole is a disaster. As much as Quickley hinders us, I'd much rather keep him than do that trade. In fact I wouldn't trade any of these players unless we are getting someone useful who can help us defend and rebound like Dillon Brooks and I doubt the Suns want to get rid of him.

  9. I had so much hope for Grady as he came in like wildfire in his first season but he fell apart this season, what a shame. But keep Battle for sure. Brandon started playing really crappy over the last couple of weeks and then got injured at the worst time.
