Steve Kerr Is Still Coaching the Warriors β€” Marc Spears

Marc Spears drops in with the latest from inside the Warriors organization β€” and he’s not holding back. With Steve Kerr’s future still technically unresolved, the NBA Draft Lottery just days away, and Draymond Green’s podcast war with Austin Rivers still making noise, this is one of the most loaded Warriors conversations of the offseason.
Spears shares what he’s hearing from Draymond’s camp directly β€” and it’s not what the hot takes are telling you. He also breaks down why Steve Kerr deserves top-five coach money in this league, why the Warriors shouldn’t be in a rush to trade their draft pick, and which prospects could realistically help Golden State right now vs. which ones are three-year projects. One name in particular could make Bay Area history.
Plus β€” the Lottery! Spears is headed to New Orleans and breaks down the realistic ceiling for the Warriors’ pick, from possible lottery jumpers to steals in the mid-range.

Topics discussed include:

  1. That's a shame. The bright side of Kerr coming back is, he just saved me over $60,000 is season tickets. Fool me once but fool me multiple times . . . . . . . . . . I'm out !

  2. If Kerr is still the coach this coming season,it will be the same result early exit.Sorry for Curry no more chips till you retire if you stay with the Warriors.

  3. So nobody is going to talk about the recent player survey where all the players in the league rate Kerr a bottom tier coach after all the Kuminga BS?

You think Lacob isn’t using that during negotiations? Nobody wants to play at GSW, it makes Kerr a huge liability functionally.

  4. If Kerr is back they're gonna lose, but everyone is going to be pissed with no hope for the future. If a new coach comes in they're still probably going to lose, but people will have the hope of a new, younger future.

  5. No, Austin rivers is not married to Steph’s sister. That’s Damion Lee. Names aren’t even close. SETH curry is married to Austin’s Sister.

  6. Disaster! W'as have missed the playoffs in four of the last seven years. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results! Ship the Dray / Kerr drama somewhere else….

  7. No one wants to face reality. Kerr inherited Jackson's initial roster formation with Jerry West and Bob Meyer's building also. Kerr and Dubs upper brass never selected real draft picks that worked. Meyers left because he saw the writing in the wall. The original talent carried the Dubs to their success. It's all gone, what's left is a bunch of old men in a youth league. The cupboards bare people. It's a complete rebuild going forward. Poor Steph, he still has a lot to give in a meaningless situation. I think Kerr is overrated, his success came from outside his talent.

  8. I wish Kerr the best wherever he goes just not on this team. He's been proven to be a fraud the past 4 years. If Lacob wants to be in the play-in again then he's bringing back Kerr. If he knows what's good for the team he has to move on. Kerr will not change his fraudulent ways.
