Not saying I'd like to see that happen, but Giannis for Booker would probably work, would make Suns better, and most importantly would help Suns future. That Booker contract will be a huge burden.
With health and an extra year together the Suns will be unquestionably better. Not a championship team. And I’m okay with that. This season was fun as hell. Let it play out until we have more leverage.
Any big swings to win now is too much to bear if it goes south again.
After this off-season, each off-season moving forward gets better for the Suns.
Stick with the continued course is the best option for Phoenix.
Since the Suns could have drafted Giannis instead of Alex Len with that #5 pick back then, gutting the team for him now is a complete hard no for me. Should have drafted Giannis when they had the chance, there would have likely been a championship banner hanging in the rafters of the match-up center by this point.
Phoenix can't make up for that mistake, it's been made, it's history.
I'm not a fan of Booker/Green together. One needs to go. Mark is expendable, def don't overpay for him. Allen and Royce can be flipped. Huge on Fleming, Goodwin, Gillespie and Brooks despite the negative. Dunn… he's a bust but OK if he's your 10th or 12th man on the roster. Definitely no on Giannis. Small changes in the way to go. Not sure about Harrison Barnes, but some taller shooters will help
No to gordon and no to any big roster changing moves like antetekoumpo.
We need to be smart about this and realize that either of those guys wont get us to challenge the thunder.
We need to continue to build for the future. Move allen and o' neal for a young talent or picks or both.
Teams interested in allen and o'neal could be the nuggets, pistons, cavs, magic, celtics and maybe the hawks.
Since we are gambing should we look into a trade of allen and maybe a future first roundrr for zachary rissacher? Then draft a talent like zuby ejiofor as our backup power forward center sharing time with ighodoro behind maluach.
Could give us a potential defensive juggernaught of a team with defensive switchability.
Rissacher joins a young core with brea( takes allen's spot) fleming and maluach. Ejiofor is a monster physical power forward down low that can score, rebound and block shots. Rissacher can develop over time and get stronger while booker, brooks and green lead the team.
We add youth, talent, defensive versatility, shooting and much better rebounding .
We wait now, becsuse we have a young core ready to take over after booker leaves or retires.
This Front Office has found gems before, but is it only shooting guards or undersized forwards?
Could that magic be used to possibly find a PF and maybe another PG?
Find me the NEXT Aaron Gordon
We need to flip Jalen Green to Chicago for Josh Giddey. Book needs a legit point guard. No more Point Book! Book is the best pure bucket in this league but we are asking too much of him.
@9:18 This needs to go on a T-Shirt 😂
Completely hear you dude. But for me, if a prime player like Giannis, with a few years left to give, and actually addresses a need completely, actually wanted to come to Phoenix, then you make it happen.
Might be that "Charles Barkley" move the team has needed for decades.. He's EXACTLY the dominant player Booker needs down low to compliment his growing court vison and increased passing abilities. The highlights between those two alone would be historic. They'd make each other even better. If there's a way to go 3 team and offload Green and/or Brooks and keep the youth down low, even better.
But I'd consider these Booker's last few true prime years. If the team is sticking with him, then Ishbia may as well go all in on them. After a successful rebuild year, it's time to level up. Either surround Book with the actual talent he needs, or trade him. He'd bring back a goldmine in assets, if you don't wanna be handcuffed til 2030.
