Give Rui 3yrs for $51M – He can come off the Bench if LBJ stays and Start @ PF if LBJ leaves.
Luke is Solid however, We have enough White Non-Athletic Shooters that are Subpar on Defense with Luka & AR – We can’t play Luka/AR/Luke Together.
Side Note – Luka & AR are more Athletic than The Average Dude but, not Athletic NBA Players that are Fast & Jumping Out the Gym.
Rui is our most consistent 3 point shooter! We need him!
Rui only plays defense and gets rebounds in a contract year so maybe put rebounds and defense in his contract requirements like the Heat make weight requirements.
Rui is going to be a perfect fit at the 4 after LBJ…hopefully this year. Why people insist on trying to squeeze one last year out of a 42 year old is malpractice.
Lakers fan just give up players for shiny new toy. RUI came to us quite young at 24 and was still developing. Today he is a legit NBA playoff caliber player that can even star. He has also been much better in defense.
Kennard reminded me as a Vikings fan of kirk cousins 😂 he protects his 3 pt percentage if you watch him like a kirk who wont throw everything and anything

Not only that he's a total Laser, he also played defense with a higher intensity.
Can someone correct me if I am wrong? I always thought Ayo was a good defender? and is in the mold of a 6'5-6'7 two way player? I might be type casting him tho. Please help?
Building around Luka and Austin will be a failure
Sign him at cheaper about $12 to 14M since he is one-dimensional player. He is a good shooter but bad defender, bad rebounder, no energy, slow reaction to the ball and injury prone.

Rui said he dont think about his contract his agent handles that ,Rui is a top player according to a week ago his agent is gonna ask for a longterm contract at premium market value becuase Rui would have said he wants to come back he left it on his agent when asked the question

I like Kennard but he is shot shy in the big moments. Rui is reliable and is more willing to stay trigger ready. Bring back prio imo Marcus and AR, then Rui then Jax. Bron at the right price. Kennard too at the right price.

Rui should go wherever Bron goes. Lakers don't deserve Bron or Rui. You took both for granted.

Not much of a difference except % where Rui was on a heater the whole playoffs but Luke was only hot a few games.
Rui es the better player on both ends throughout the whole playoffs. He was more consistent. Price will be the problem with Rui. He’s probably going to get a good contract somewhere else.
Letting him go where he clearly can shoot and slide into that 4 spot when Bron is gone is insane. Rui’s stats all across the board went up at the 4 spot. The key is to find a good wing to pair with Rui. We need another DFS type player.
Rui is a terrible player. Wouldn’t even be good 6 man on any team. Rui is complete trash. I say trash meaning anything over vet minimum. Lebron is complete trash over vet minimum. Is what it is.

During each of the last 3 regular seasons with the Lakers, he has been used to hit 3s and defend the bigs or star players. Rui is the type of player that needs several touches in order to get hot, but the Lakers don't even run plays for him. This has led to Rui being disengaged during the regular season and finding himself on the bench because of it. Rui turns it up a couple of notches in the playoffs like he did against Memphis a couple of years ago. He's athletic and skilled. He just hasn't been used properly and Rui also needs to change his attitude when he's not getting touches.
Trade Rui for a 1st pick, say a team like Orlando 🤔

Rui for sure but I think there really isnt an issue here because they may keep Kennard as well.

You can't keep Rui as a starter, not with Luka and AR. He's just so headless on defense. Sure, keep him as a bench player if you can afford him, but otherwise, what are we talking about here. He's not a starter in a Luka team. A good series doesn't change that.
