  1. I don’t think either is leaving, Gillespie said that he is going to be here next year and I think it would be stupid to get rid of Goodwin, I have trust in BG to try and figure out a way to keep them both.

  2. I dont have a problem with both coming back. Trade allen to the magic for jonathan isaac in a straight swap. Use pick 47 on kashie natt.

Booker, green, brooks, isaac and williams. Or fleming at small forward and isaac at power forward .

Defensive chaos. Also moving allen for isaac saves 3.69 million in luxury tax bringing us to 15 million.

Off the bench, kashie natt and jordan goodwin in the backcourt would be an absolute nightmare of suffocating defense in the backcourt.

  3. Suns are in a bad situation in my opinion thanks to giving away all our picks and getting siphoned off by bradley steal for another 4 years 20 million a pop. Seems like they are gonna have to swing for the fence and take some risks if they want a chance to compete during whats left of Book's prime the next 4 years. Trying to draft and develope this team into a contender just doesn't fit Book's timeline unless rasheer and maluach turn into stars overnight, which isn't happening. This season was fun, especially because of the year before. But if this is what we get the next few years the fans will turn on em quick

  4. I think the source you're referencing is an opinion piece Luke Duffy did for Valley of the Suns. It was void of any actual cap breakdown or offseason primer and simply his opinion based on his very little salary cap knowledge. He stated that Phoenix would have less money if they brought both back, which is categorically untrue as the Suns are over the cap and have no money to spend in the way he's referencing. The only caveat is they could use the full MLE; however, that would hard cap them at the 1st apron and that's not something they're going to do so it's a moot point.

So whether they bring one or both back will ONLY have an impact on the Suns relationship the luxury tax. Duffy was operating under a misconception that Phoenix has cap space to begin with. As I stated, they'll be hard capped at the 1st apron if they use the full MLE, which they won't do (and didn't last summer). That leaves the Tax Payer MLE, which they would have access to regardless of the CG/Goodwin situation.

Just terrible writing by Duffy. Half of this pieces are pitting himself against other Suns fans, which is incredibly ironic considering he doesn't understand how the cap works and he argues with people who try to educate him.
