Trail Blazers Owner Is ADAMANT About Cutting Costs

Portland Trail Blazers owner Tom Dundon says he won’t change his philosophy regardless of the public media criticism. Dundon has faced backlash over reported cost-cutting measures, one of those including not bringing the Blazers’ two-way players on road trips with the team. It was recently reported that 70 employees have been laid off to save money, the most recent criticism of Tom is based around these reports.

Is Tom Dundon too cheap to be Portland’s owner?

  1. This Yahoo guy can kick rocks lmao. Brushing off a billionaire's scummy behavior with "this is how things are". But they don't need to be…especially for a fucking billionaire lol.

  2. What Dundon said in that interview was that non-players were not allowed to check out late because they all met down in one of the conference rooms to work in a group setting. Having traveled for business meetings in the past, this is a common occurrence. I would expect that those discussing this in pod casts would put some effort in and report as to whether what he said was true or not. To not do so is just pure laziness on the part of the podcasters.

  3. Free agents are not going to play in Portland. He should sell the team because the other owners are not going to let him move the team.

  4. Outbidding everyone for a really high-priced asset, then acting like you can't afford that asset, is next level cheapness. He knew how many employees the team had before he bought the team. Doing that right away sends a message to any free agent who might have considered the Blazers, not that they get many to begin with, that the new owner doesn't value employees.

  5. The guy can do whatever he wants with the team. He bought it. People are freaking out but the Blazers have fired lots of broadcast teams and coaches, etc. Let's see if he make the team better before all the doom and gloom.
