The Timberwolves were eliminated in 6 by the Spurs, but it was an impressive showing considering the injuries.
Here’s what the near future may entail for them.

  3. i think they need more consistent guard play . obviously the divincenzo injury significantly affected them, but ant getting doubled at half court leads to issues. he is a natural born scorer. it was difficult for him to get the ball back after he got off it (if he even did). randle was terrible, i felt as though his abilities were the perfect factor against the spurs forward depth, but he was completely nullified.

  4. Lol, they're the worst kind of close. The close that seems a bridgeable gap on paper, but in reality it is an absolute chasm.

    They're the third best team in the West, but they're so far away from OKC and San Antonio.

    You can give Minnesota a one game head start and they'd still lose to both of those teams in 6.

  6. lol that randle/westbrook talk was terrible… russ has never been as bad as randle was this post season especially as a 2nd option and their highs aren’t even comparable as well

  8. West teams have to build a team that can beat okc & spurs + even jokic on some level or guarding him

    Best case for wolves is being switched to the east for expansion

    Even with Donte & fully healthy ant I still think this ends in 6 honestly. 5 realistically

  15. I’d try to go get Ja. His trade value is as low as it’s ever gonna be. Assuming he gets back to form, Ja immediately ups the offensive upside by getting a PG for one and allowing Ant to take less of a load. They are good enough defensively to cover him and he and Ant would be one of the most athletic backcourts maybe ever. Yea the Gobert part of this makes the fit a little weird on offense but Ant’s jump as a 3 point shooter and assuming Randle is being moved McDaniels slides to the 4 allowing a little more floor spacing

  19. McDaniels Shannon and the others carried the wolves this postseason even Rudy vs the nuggets AYO went crazy. Naz reid balled out. And Randle didn't show up and ant showed up maybe three games ..and all I've heard is everyone let ant down and ants a top 5 player? Y'all all need to hop off bro's nut sack. He's good but he ain't that guy yet. I get you like his shoes and great quotes but he's so inconsistent especially in the really big games..not round one game 7 I'm talking wcf..and this yr he did his every other game BS and got all the credit and none of the blame. Absolutely wild.

  22. Honestly, I think it'd be smart for the Wolves to look at putting a deal together to get Darius Garland from the Clips. I think he would be the perfect guy next to Ant. I'd definitely try to keep Rudy if you can, the defense of the team is pretty much rooted in him.

  24. The Wolves are the 3rd best team in the West. Problem is the gap between them and the top 2 is significantly large and they can only get better with making significant changes. If they want Giannis Jaden McDaniels and Rudy are gone who are very important to the team. If you want a guys like Kawhi or Kyrie your gambling on 35 year old guys next to your young superstar with a short window. I don’t really know what’s the move here to put them over the top

  26. Even if they were fully healthy it wouldn’t have mattered anyway and it won’t matter in the future. The two games they won were from an outlier bad Wemby offensive game and the game where he got ejected

  31. Giannis and Turner to Minnesota for Gobert and Randle + whatever else the Bucks want. Thoughts?

    Considering there aren't many other teams that could or would give a better offer, this honestly seems realistic to me and would benefit both teams.

  36. The problem is that the Timberwolves are horrible at properly understanding young talent and have been forever. They routinely choke on draft night and don’t make trades that are 100% available for what they have until it’s too late. They traded Ray Allen and Brandon Roy after drafting them when they could’ve kept either with Kevin Garnett. They used 2 picks on 2 different guards right before Steph Curry. They continued to fail to build a team around Kevin Love by choking in both the 2010 and 2011 drafts when both were star packed after their picks at 4th and 2nd. They got lucky to draft Andrew Wiggins and proceeded to surround him with score first mouths to feed in KAT and LaVine instead of trying to build a foundation he could actually develop in. You could argue that same thing in any direction with the 3. They traded Walker Kessler and a haul for Rudy Gobert when keeping Kessler probably would’ve been more valuable if you consider they could’ve given those assets for a different player and position and still kept one of the best rim protectors in basketball. They gave up basically everything else they had left for Rob Dillingham who they failed to develop and traded away. You cannot convince me that when the Kings gave up Tyrese Haliburton for Sabonis, they wouldn’t have gladly made that same deal for KAT. For a team who keeps getting lucky with some of the most exciting and fun players to watch in the NBA, they are horrible at building rosters that actually complement their star players.
