What Will The Dallas Mavericks Do With The #9 Pick In The 2026 NBA Draft? WORST vs BEST vs REALISTIC

The 2026 NBA Draft is LOADED with talent, and the Dallas Mavs have a top-10 pick to pair with Cooper Flagg. Who will the Mavs draft at #9? Could they look to pick up Brayden Burries out of Arizona? What if Mikel Brown out of Louisville falls to #9? Is Kingston Flemings a perfect fit out of Houston?

  1. Hey Jimmy,
I agree with who the Mavs will have to choose from at #9, Burries or Flemmings. Whichever way they go will dictate who they target in a future Kyrie trade. If the Mavs pick Burries, they will need to target a PG in a future Kyrie trade. If they go Flemmings, then they trade for the best player/picks available. This is why I want them to pick Kingstom Flemmings at #9, not only is he (in my opinion) the better player, but it gives the Mavs more options.
    Your thoughts?

  2. 8:11 Yeah if Flemings is the only guard available at 9 we should take him and not trade down. He has great potential because of his athleticism and shot creation. But best case scenario we can pick between Brown Jr and Burries.

  3. Tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t draft a guard. Especially Specially with our new GM who was EARLY on Wemby. I do think we gonna get a great pick no matter what. And I think Klay Gaff and PJ are highly likely traded

  4. Flemmings is such a good steal at 9, fast, quick change of pace, best vision out of the top ten and shot 38% from 3 in a Houston.. He has the most tools out the lot but yes mikel and burries fit the team better..

  5. I think you’re underestimating Kingston Flemings a bit when comparing him to Burries. I’ve watched 10+ Burries games and honestly I’m not that high on him. There’s a reason he’s lower on most mock drafts compared to Flemings. He kinda disappears against better competition, and his defense isn’t as good as people make it out to be. Yeah, he can defend and he’s solid, but he’s not the POA defender you think he is

  6. Trade the picks and go big. Cooper is ready. Kyrie is good enough to be 3rd option. Go get giannis. Then add shooters from free agency. Middleton is good enough to be 6th man scorer in playoffs
