  2. It takes a combination of making opportune trades, acquisitions, and draft picks that'll put the Nets in a good position to build a good roster. Jalen Brunson wasn't drafted by the NY Knicks or Shai Gileous-Alexander wasn't drafted by the OKC Thunder but the Knicks and the Thunder are reaping the benefits from acquiring them respectively. Just to name a few, Lebron James, Jayson Tatum, and Larry Bird were big contributors to winning NBA titles for the teams that drafted them; the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. The results of the decisions of a GM, for building a team, is the X factor for obvious reasons. Since the Nets moved to Brooklyn, NY and Sean Marks was retained as their GM, his decisions have brought the Nets to the position they're in today. What grade would you give him so far? To some, that's a rhetorical question. To others, it's an indicting one.

  3. @Rasheed Do you honestly think Ajay Mitchell could turn into a Jalen Brunson kind of player? It's possible but not probable. Brunson has been a leader at every stage in his basketball career and Ajay hasn't to the same extent. Do you honestly think Sean Marks will try to out bid the Thunder for Ajay, who's under contract with them? I don't. He's had too much bad luck from trying to poach players from teams in his past. There's a lot of discussions concerning who he should select in the NBA draft next month. Could anyone predict who he's going to select? We'll just have to nervously wait and see.

  4. In this information saturated culture, every basketball fan and player is aware of the job GM Sean Marks have been doing since he took that job. How could he sell coming to Brooklyn to marquee players and draft picks other than boasting about NYC being the largest media center in the US? That wont necessarily be a draw to some players. There are those that'll enjoy Brooklyn's diversity, culture, and attractions but it's a congested, noisy, expensive city with seasonal limitations. Some players would prefer a quieter family friendly city to play in rather than Brooklyn.

  5. @Rasheed Good soliloquy. One of the things I like about them, other than the content, is seeing the reflection of the monitor in your eyeglasses. It makes you look like a scientist conducting some kind of experiment. lol
