SPURS POSTCAST: WE’RE GOING 7! | Wembanyama & LOCKDOWN Defense Lead Game 6 Rout of SGA & OKC Thunder
Casey Viera and NBA champion Devin Brown recap Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals as Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs stay alive against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the OKC Thunder, forcing a winner-take-all Game 7 on Saturday.
Wembanyama totaled 28 points and 10 rebounds while Dylan Harper scored 18 off the bench.
Stephon Castle added 17 points and nine assists, as San Antonio limited Oklahoma City to only 37 percent shooting from the field.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 15 points on 6-of-18 shooting in the defeat.
The two teams will meet in Game 7 on Saturday in Oklahoma City for the right to play the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals starting next week.

Fox played very poorly, missed so so many shots… He must do better to help the whole team to win Game 7.
-The main thing is when we’re consistently connected on defense like that, we smother the fight out of teams. Suffocating defense tonight. On a string. No one got going and we were disciplined not fouling shai. Castle has been a menace on him. Should’ve been all nba defense but that’s for another day…
-When Vic sets the tone offensively and gets going, the others seem to be more confident and decisive. We can beat this team and win game 7. Stick to spurs basketball and be disciplined. We’re further than we were supposed to be. We’re here so let’s finish them off. GSG
OKC hasnt lost a back to back for 2 years, especially at home. If the Spurs actually do it I will give them major credit.

I feel if the Spurs play man defense and stay on their defender with help defense on drives is what the game plan will be. Allow Frankenstein his shot put and make Shai go to his right.Offensively drive kick out pump drive kick out swing,swing until you take their legs and get the open shot. I was happy to see how the bench played when Wemby was resting. They did a great job to not let them gain any momentum. That Vassell block!!
It was great that we forced a Game 7 yet I am concerned that after every victory they have played horribly. Like a complete change from how they played to win.
Fox needs to get roasted for being 5-24 in the last two games. Ankle or not. That is flat out unacceptable for a Max player. 7 points per game is ridiculous. If he doesn’t step up big in game 7 and the Spurs lose…..he seriously needs to be traded.
Wonderful joyful basketball game with no officiating bs. Congrats on the great win! Coach Mitch proved me wrong on a few things offensively that I said before the game. The team were right to shoot so many 3s at the beginning because it’s when they usually are the most effective. Then their efficiency at 3s was way lower: the Spurs made 3 shots out of 10 beyond the arc in the 2nd quarter and 2 out of 8 in the 3rd. So their 3s made the difference in the 1st quarter and then their defense, their pts in the paint and rebds made the difference in the 3rd quarter.
If the Spurs maintain this defensive fortress in game 7, they should win, provided that they do not confuse speed with haste in case most of their early 3s do not fall.
And most importantly, the joy of playing must prevail over anything else, even potentially bad officiating.
Spurs aren’t winning in OKC….it is Scripted. Bet on spurs to lose and make some money to easy your disappointment.
I’m thinking about what TMac was saying post game. It’s great Vic got his 3 going early but if you don’t make those in OKC and Thunder get those long rebounds it causes that avalanche effect. In Game 7 I’d like to see Vic start on the inside

NBA needs a new commissioner that has played the game and new group of referees with fresh eyes and make fair calls!! If OKC wins, my consolation will be that media and the public will question OKC accomplishments, awards and win. I know I will. Dirty plays, award winner Floppers, paid referees, etc. So sad!!!
