You didn’t mention Paul Allen owned both the Blazers and Seahawks.
To think that cutting 60+ employees won’t change things in terms of the Blazers winning games because they are not part of the basketball side (or even if some were) is a more than a little short sided by Dundon. Those people didn’t do nothing…They contributed in various intangible ways across lots of domains that translate to fans and the fan-base (ala the towels) , and that ultimately affects the whole franchise in a domino-sense. I’ve seen enough of these corporate mass layoffs to know the burden of what those folks provided being absent falls on those still standing, and that also can lead to resentment and more of the domino effect of bad vibes down the chain. What Dundon doesn’t know as the relentless businessman is the life of the “layman” worker, and the life of the layman Blazer fan, both of whom are at the foundation of the whole thing. Chipping away at this foundation to stuff his already overburdened pockets can’t be good for the franchise, even if the intangible contributions from of those former employees is a little hazy or hard to pin down looking from the outside in. TLDR: it was a dick move.
I just hope we don't end up getting pucked over. Go, Blazers!

Mike! I also thought it was odd regarding the "who we let go vs. who we kept" quote – I told my wife (also Blazers sicko) that you've never heard of a news story that says "IBM had kept 5,000 employees in recent layoffs" – but braindead billionaire sums it up much more succinctly.
Honestly winning is what will determine his status as an owner in Portland. But he's not going to win any popularity contests anytime soon.
My tinfoil hat theory is that he's trying to become the Jerry Jones of basketball. As-famous-as-the-players owner that's both polarizing and click bait gold for content creators.
