   That way, Luka and Reaves can alternate between Smart and Ayo to maintain defence and playmaking through stretches, and Timelord gives us that elite defensive big for the playoffs in reserve.

4. I continue to think Dillon the villain. KB24 recruited Ron Artest and turned him into world peace. Those types of players can be championship guys.

5. I like the idea of adding UFA Guard Ayo Dosunmu and UFA Center Robert Williams IF the Lakers fit them under the first apron AND add further UFAs to fill out the roster. You mention Marcus Smart; I like him a lot. But if his asking price goes too high, I'd think about trying to sign a similar player, Jordan Goodwin, to a lower-priced contract. Similarly, if Hayes' price goes too high, I'd try to sign a lower priced UFA Center like Nick Richards or Jock Landale.

6. I like Reaves' game a LOT. And Luka wants him back. So, I think it's inevitable that Reaves re-signs with the Lakers. But… I keep think that the Lakers could sign BOTH UFA Guard Ayo Dosunmu AND RFA Guard Bennedict Mathurin for the same or less money than they'd be paying Reaves. Two good SGs might help the Lakers become a better championship caliber team than just Reaves.

10. Ayo would start. Luka doesn't guard twitchy guards anyway. Reeves would get the easier of the backcourt assignments and Luka would defensively be a SF. The Lakers best lineups had Reeves, Smart, Luka, Ayton and LeBron. Their second best lineup was the same but swap LeBron with Rui. Their biggest need is a point of attack defender large enough to not get switch hunted. Their biggest resigning choice is between Rui and LeBron. They have too much overlap and the money not spent on the other is what the team needs to bring in another starter.

11. The Lakers are definitely going to have AT LEAST $45 million to $50 million in salary cap space this summer. They’re NOT bringing back LeBron James and Maxi Kleber whatsoever. It’s NOT an automatic that they’re bringing back Luke Kennard or Marcus Smart either. Especially when they have a legit shot at nabbing Ayo Dosunmo in free agency along with the TimeLord. You can also pretty much guarantee that Jaxson Hayes returns. As poorly as Deandre Ayton played at times, he shouldn’t have any issue getting another $8 million a year on the open market. We’re not even talking a mid-level exception for Ayton here. The only one who concerns me is Rui Hachimura. Rui has played very well for the Lakers over the last three years. Penciling him in as the starting power forward would be great. One last thing about Ayo Dosunmo, he turned 26 years old in January, which puts him right on the same timeline as Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Even if Ayo didn’t start, the Lakers would give him starter’s minutes on a playoff team with a young prime generational superstar like Luka. While Ayo doesn’t have the reputation of being quite the same elite defender that Marcus Smart has been, let’s not get it twisted. Ayo is STILL a well above average point of attack defender who IS 7 years younger than Marcus is and brings tremendous size at 6’4 or 6’5 with a 6’10 wingspan to the table. In an ideal world, the Lakers could bring back Marcus and team him up with Ayo in certain rotations. The Lakers however, should try to stay as young as possible and bringing in a 26 year old Ayo Dosunmo would help them do so.
