  1. I disagree with you Sam that Houston should prioritize shooting. What houston needs the most is at least on more ball handler. They were destroyed by the Lakers because no one could bring the ball up the court. If they keep all their eggs in FVV coming back from a major injury and further develpment from Thompson and Sheppard, in 12 months they will be in the same spot they are now.

  2. Trade idea: Sengun, Sheppard, DFS, Eason, Green, Davison, Tate, Adams, Capela, 27 PHX 1st, 28 HOU 1st swap, 29 HOU 1st, 29 DAL 1st, 30 HOU 1st swap, 31 HOU 1st, 32 HOU 1st swap
    – for –
Giannis Antetokoumnpo, Kostas Antetokoumnpo, Alexis Antetokoumnpo, Vassilis Antetokoumnpo, Elefterios Antetokoumnpo, Dimitrios Antetokoumnpo, Antetokoumnpos Antetokoumnpo, Makarios Antetokoumnpo, Kyle Kuzma

    who says no?

  3. Horrible analysis. We know what Jabari, Amen or Reed look like without Sengun: a whole lot of nothing cause they either can’t dribble, pass or shoot in some combination. Just lazy takes based on stereotypes.

  4. Sengun to Bucks, Ware/fillers to Houston, Giannis to Miami.

Houston could even try to squeeze in KD to Miami for Wiggins (OPT in or S&T) fillers and a pick. Think Houston should go young, Spurs and OKC are too good right now, don't think Giannis and KD win together at this point, Giannis will heavily depreciate as an asset leaving Houston worse off down the road. Fit wise, KD spends a lot of time in the mid range and the offense gets easily clunked up when he plays with multiple non shooters like Amen/Sengun or in this scenario Amen/Giannis. Ime is not the coach to have just "figure it out" on offense, the fit isn't as great as it is on paper because KD doesn't functionally stretch the floor to his percentages given where he operates as a player.

Sengun has not always been a black hole and inefficient as Sam describes, if you look at the lineup splits in 24-25 he made every one around him massively better, lead the team in on/off, .Sengun also had above average efficiency at 20 and 21 (scored 21 ppg, not low volume). Maybe he's just not that good and his weaknesses are being better exploited, but he also might be dealing with confidence issues, struggling with Houston's spacing and is a poor fit with Ime's "offensive style". He might be able to put things together and hit another level as a player with better conditions, is only 23.

  5. My number one target would be finding a way to acquire Saddiq Bey. The money with him and Capela works. There would have to be some draft compensation. A 2028 top 11 protected could do.

Bey is a big physical wing, good rebounder for his position so that stays true to our identity, good volume shooter and more importantly won't be played off the floor.

He's a guy that can actually play in a playoff series. 27 years old and a career 16ppg scorer. Whether he's starting or coming off the bench he is consistent.

If the Bucks are trying to clear space maybe we could get in on a Portis for DFS and multiple 2nds.

That would add two guys in their primes who are both good consistent bench scores / rebounders and not horrible defensively so Udoka wouldn't have the excuse to bury them on the bench.

  6. Tari is not worth $20 million, he is max $15 millon worth, he is not someone you can trust – yes he is a good defender but he sometimes makes very silly mistakes: at defense, he has body control issues, fouling unnecessarily to shooters, at the offense, he dribbles into the crowd, tries to play over his role and frequently messes up.

  7. Clearly u guys dont watch a lot of Rockets. Sengun is like 3x the player Amen is. Amen cant shoot, dribble or handle a ball. Beside that he was average on defense this season. Sengun still is a decent defender. Just go and check against who Wemby has the lowest true shooting 1 on 1. Yes its Sengun. A 2x time all star at 23 years old. Great ball handler great passer and a great post player. Yeah Sengun is great.

  8. When you guys “traded for Trey Murphy” your starting lineup was never five guys. Sam’s lineup left Amen off the first time, and then Trey Murphy off the second time.

Trade Amen. He is the issue. The Rockets main issue is crunch time offense because nobody guards Amen. It’s very easy to see.

  9. @Sam Vecenie I 100% agree with you on your take of Amen Thompson. Untouchable and the player they should be building around.

Sengun most likely has one year left if he doesn't develop a three ball and get back to where he was defensively two seasons ago.

  10. @Sam Vecenie your analysis of Sengun is also spot on. I like him as a player and I think he's got some leadership qualities but unfortunately his play style just really hinders everybody else's on the teams.

We already have KD, who also takes his sweet a$$ time "getting to his spots'. Sengun does the same thing but with below average efficiency, at least the old timer remains efficient.

We're not getting the best Thompson version we could with him on the floor. It was the same thing with Green.

Amen Thompson average 18 PPG last season with Sengun clogging the paint and hogging the usage. His numbers would definitely go up.

Sengun has essentially been the same player for the last 3 years. A 21ish ppg scorer but with just bad shooting efficiency overall.

I don't think we have to trade him this year because it would be kind of selling low in my opinion but I do think we need to change up the way we play offensively.

Less Sengun action, that doesn't mean he's not touching the ball as much, we just need quicker decisions and quicker ball movement that applies to KD as well.

  11. I think your pelicans trade idea is a pretty good one but here's a tweak that could be added.

Sengun and Capella for Trey Murphy, Saddiq Bey and Yves Messi.

Sengun and Queen are both two really good at passing big men who can score, and realistically they attack from different spots on the floor. If they're shooting continues to develop it could at least be fun.

Vlade Divac/Chris Webber 2.0, not an apples to apples comparison but just an idea of what having multiple good passing big men could do for your offense

  12. Ben Mathurin would be very interesting in the rare double sign and trade scenario for Tari Eason.

I'm guessing at the Clippers would have to move Kawhi Leonard first for them to be interested in that.

  13. You move KD not Sengun. Sengun just needs to be used correctly. I think the Rockets are on a longer window than most teams. They just want to keep the option of creating a window as deals come up. They keep a base with plenty of assets to jump in when the window appears.

  14. Sengun is already 23. He is who he is, can't possibly improve at all.

Amen is only 23. So much room for improvement, he'll definitely learn to shoot and dribble.

  15. That fact that the Rockets don't have a single max player kind of tells you everything.

A collection of a lot of very good players and that will take you far, but never all the way.

  16. So the thompson twins are so praised for their hard work but they're both 23 with no shot or dribble. What have they been working on this entire time? The athleticism they were blessed with?
