  1. In the current situation of the Lakers, I would not pay him that. I think it’s a reasonable contract for him relative to similar players around the league…it’s just not the best case scenario for the Lakers

  2. Reaves never asked for a max the guy who said that was speaking on his own speculation he never brought up any sources or was speaking for Reaves or anyone in his camp people are just overreacting for nothing and saying the dumbest stuff in comments

  3. If Reaves get a max I'm done with the Lakers. It will tell me that Luka is our new GM. This guy has been hurt more than present, and we are allowing him to call the shots, I hope not. Everybody with good sense knows there are at least ten guards in the league who can shut Reaves down every night, he's not that man. Good free-throw shooter and he plays hard, but he is going to give up just as much as he scores, and that ability to score will only be against guards who can't play defense like hisself. If I can't get him to do a sign and trade, I let him walk. Four years one hundred and forty million, that is as high as I would go.

  4. If Austin wants the max I’d let him go and sign Ayo instead. Better fit next to Luka and half the price. Shoots better, defends better. Still a good secondary creator even if obviously not as good as Austin. Sort of like Nickeil Alexander Walker from last year.

  5. We gone have to Pay AR $35M-$37M in 26/27 on a Yearly Increasing Contract or $41M in 26/27 on a Yearly Decreasing Contract however, We have to be Ready to Trade Him in Summer 27 if He isn’t a Perfect Fit!!!

We can’t let Him Walk for Free!!!

  6. No team including the Lakers are going to pay 35 plus million for AR. He's a 26 max per player. Let that delusional fool walk. 40 plus mil is crazy.

  7. Lakers have 6 to 7 unrestricted free agents and in typical laker fan thinking they passing out contract numbers after these players have put themselves in positions to earn this per the cba. You can't just throw players away and think it's gonna free up cap space . Think

  8. What an uncreative list of wings to pursue: Murphy, Herb, Dort, Watson, Middleton. How about some young and athletic wing under the radar picks including from the draft? How about Joe/Wiggins, Sochan, Mamu, and picks Baba Miller or Evans?

  9. Let James go! What is with you people. Use all that money on elite multiple players and Luka’s future. I’m sick of all the media trying to sabotage this franchise because of infatuation! Listen to us true Lakers fans! WE DONT WANT JAMES HERE ANYMORE!

  10. Pay Reaves $25 million a year for five years. Pay LeBron 3 years $23 million a year. Player options in the last year. Austin Reaves is not a highly coveted basketball player in the league. No team needs him to win a championship or get through the first round.

  11. either S@T him or let him walk. Ayo is better and a third of the price. Get him. Stop saying you cant let him walk for nothing. Thats stupid. If he walks we have an extra 21 million. Last year we got Smart for 5 million. Management has to stop chasing Mozgov deals.

  12. Lakers front office has failed. Only one of their best players are currently under contract. They have zero good young players on cheap contracts. No viable trade pieces. No clear plan to become a contender. Organizational malpractice.

  13. Lots of Austin haters on here. I'd love to bring Austin back, but not at the max. The more important moves are who else can they sign or trade for to build depth, improve rebounding and defense. I don'y see anyone in the FA market this year who will provide the same numbers AR brings so to let him walk would be foolish especially since they have his Bird rights. Also, AR would need to agree to a sign and trade. Hopefully, they can also develop Adou over the summer and use their 1R pick on someone who can contribute now.

  14. Naw….Reaves delusional! POOR PLAYOFF PERFORMANCE..he's not even an all star, No awards to warrant a max salary for a player…When he's on a bench role, he didn't win the 6th man of the year and NOT A PLAYOFF RISER…Another Jordan Poole w/ massive contract but no impact. Atleast Poole won a ring w/ Warriors!AR none!

  15. It doesn't matter if he's elite finisher in the rim…the question is, does he have impact during playoffs???? He's a target in the playoffa..Why pay him w/ that max salary..Lakers can give 30mil/yr for 5 yrs, then trade him w/ a 2 way player…

  16. Reaves is not worth 40M on this team, when in two years straight, which means, every time we need him he doesn’t show up for us in the playoffs. Those same teams do the same thing to him in the regular season and they amplify it up in the playoffs. It doesn’t matter if he’s healthy or not he’s a no show in the playoffs. That’s all that matters. Reaves is going to have to ask for something reasonable, 30 million-ish, somewhere in that ballpark and we have to get rid of James! IMMEDIATELY!
