So you would trade the 9th pick for a bag of chips. Even getting 2 future picks doesn't guarantee that you are getting anything better.
With the new rules every pick in the lottery is drawn so you are just as likely to get the 14th pick as you are of getting the 1st pick if it is in the 3 balls range. Also more likely to be a bad pick if it is in the 2 or 1 ball range.
I rather they just take the 9th pick or move back to get 2 picks this year in the 12th to 18th range. How many times has getting a haul of pick not paid out? I rather have the known options of this year.
On that Atlanta trade the Mavs are getting a player that is going to be 28 when the season starts. How does that fit with Flaggs timeline? Atlanta picks that are most likely to be in the 20s. How is that better than the 9th pick or 2 pick in the 12 to 18 range this year?

I hate this time of the year. People coming up with a million different scenarios and people coming up with unrealistic scenarios to move up. To move up, Dallas is going to have to give up a lot AND picks they dont have.
