I agree with Josh Hart, the hell with those draft picks man the hell with those draft picks.
Theyâre playing around with draft picks and the Knicks are signing star and quality vet players.
Itâs all well and good to want more picks BUT having first round picks is a gift and curse if it locks you into guaranteed roster spots and money. The great thing about second rounders is you can sign them to two way deals. Thatâs not the case with a first round picks. Two ways give you flexibility to add them to your roster but not take up a guaranteed roster spot. Drake Powell, Ben Saraf, Nolan, Danny, and Egor all count on the 15 man.
When the Nets decided to draft five freaking rookies they essentially locked themselves into Five long term roster spots. Which why teams donât do it. This isnât the MLB where you can just take first rounders and stash them indefinitely in the minors without them counting as roster slots.
You are allowed 15 spots on a roster and three two ways. The Nets already have a bloated number of guaranteed contracts. In order for the Nets to make any serious noise next season in terms of winning games Marks will need to move some of the rookies off the team.
You are not going to be a very good team next season if 50 percent of your roster is filled with first and second year role players. Thatâs not a winning formula.
You know whatâs really funny about the organization?
Theyâre the most secretive, close lip , organization, and you know what other GMâs are probably thinking? who the hell would wanna copy the way the nets run their organization?
They hold their state secrets so close to the vest you would think theyâve won 10 championships the way they run the organization. If I was another team Iâd say whatever the Nets do Iâm doing the opposite.
Get me the guy from St Johnâs. He is a great defensive player, can grab boards, pass the ball and score too.
