Running out on every three then trying to run back and get the rebound. It’s impressive but it completely drains him. You can’t play defense like that AND carry your teams offensive load. He needs to pace himself and pick his spots. He can’t make every play on defense. He’ll figure it all out though and it’s a wrap. He way ahead of schedule.

    Lastly, Fox may not be the answer but Harper is not a true PG. Either is Castle. It’s not easy to be a true PG and run an offense in the NBA. Castle and Harper so similar they may have to trade one. Or leave one of them on the bench and figure out a rotation to get them both minutes. Fox kills them because he can’t shoot. Whoever plays PG with Wemby on the floor will have that wide open 16 foot jumper all game because everyone gravitates to Wemby when he rolls. But Fox can’t make that shot.

19. I couldn't disagree more.. I think Wemby is going to see a career of losses like this unless he gets a serious injury and doesn't get back at all, which obviously is highly likely.. What we saw was just the beginning on how to minimize Wemby's impact and teams are going to take that strategy and perfect it. Wemby has zero "moves" and is 100% dependent on his physical traits which have always been enough but when you get in the NBA playoffs you are going to need more that that. He has been skating on that his entire life and he will never have a strong post move because he will always get pushed off the block. Their locker room is going to be a night mare next year anyway. We already have seen the problems with Fox, Harper & Castle and how they feel about the Wemby show isn't exactly a healthy team situation.. IMO.

50. This notion that all the Spurs had to do to win the series was to hold onto the early leads that they got in these games is a misleading one and I'll tell you why. The amount of energy they had to expend to achieve that position was insane and we saw game after game after game how their efficiency and execution continually declined with each passing quarter while their opponent seemed to get stronger. The trends are undeniable and it's not so simple like that wishful (and disingenuous) narrative makes it out to be. Outscoring the other team in the first quarter or even the first half but wearing your tires down in the process and being unable to maintain a certain level of performance the remainder of the game doesn't somehow mean that you were the better team just because you may have been up early in these games. It doesn't matter how fast you come out of the gate if you aren't strong enough at the finish. It's a marathon, not a sprint. And yes, inexperience plays a part of it, but as I alluded to there was certainly a lot more to it than that.
