Is TRADING Up for Yaxel Possible!?

Many of you have said you would love to see the Spurs draft Yaxel Lendeborg however, he is likely to be drafted before the Spurs 20th overall pick.Should the Spurs use some of their draft capitol try move up and draft Yaxel?

  2. If we get a legitimate 4 we can run SO MANY different combinations on the floor.

    We can move champagnie back to his position at the 2

    Fox/harper at the 1
    Castle/champagnie at the 2
    Vassel/keldon at the 3
    Insert 4 and an improved Carter Bryant at the 4
    Wemby/kornet at the 5

  4. Yaxel struck me as a little arrogant in his March Madness interviews. Like he isn’t over himself, and might not be a good personality fit for the Spurs organization. Just my two cents. Great player though.

  8. i know we are supposed to say stuff like "no way we have a chance at this player!" blah blah blah. He gives me vibes of one of those players that could fall because of his age. Draft would have go a certain way and im not certain how the draft would have to fall for this to happen but its a possibility. Not saying he will drop to 20 but he could fall into trade up range (mid teens)

  11. Who I'd be calling if I were the Spurs looking to fill out the bench with free agents:

    Power forwards for the $15M MLE in order of preference:
    Rui Hachimura – tough to convince a younger guy to take less money to ring chase.
    John Collins – similar situation to Rui but less valued so the pay cut for the MLE would be less
    Tobias Harris – At the point in his career where rings may matter more than salary.

    French connection vet mins, experience with Wemby on the national team:
    Nick Batum – great all around wing who is at the end of his career, perfect vet min ring chaser.
    Guershon Yabuselle – Enforcer PF, desperate for one more year to get NBA retirement $$

  12. TSR what do you think about the crazy rumors anout the spurs in free agency we’re linked to Jalen Brown,Giannis, Isaiah Stewart, and John Collins. What do you think about it or if it’s even true I hope it’s true about John Collins because that’s the cheapest one and he’s a decent power forward with experience and him and Wemby together in the front course would be trouble for other teams, they both catch lobs They both shoot threes and they’re both good in the paint.

  14. The one thing we lack that the Spurs can get a judgement on is the character of the player, and if they fit the Spurs system. We see a player like Yaxel and think "he is worth trading up for" while the Spurs FO might have interviewed him and spent time with him and said "we aren't drafting him no matter what". It's fun content in the leadup to the draft, and I see a bunch of different PFs that seem like they could add great value, but I have no idea which of them might be Spursy players. I'll celebrate whoever we take, and if the FO thinks it's worth moving up for Yaxel or another big, then I'll trust they think that is the best fit and worth whatever we give up.

  15. I prefer cenac who is a true power forward , im really tired of us getting undersize pf like sochan again! Yaxel is measured 6”8”” at combined , if he got him if we meet the same team we fought this year , we will just be pushed around ! Those bigs of wolves , OKC and new york are just too much and no one can protect wemby! These 6”8”” cant do anything , cannot hussle , rebound, and SCREEN!!! Gone are the days when there are malik roses , so as talented yaxel is , we dont need him! We need big boys Cenac! Vasaar! Hannes steinbach, these are what we NEED! Im done with undersize PF

  17. If possible when trading up, Steinbach would be a better choice.
    Better shooting, accepts being a 3&D and is 6'11 and can be a combo 4/5.
    And one of his major quality is also basketball IQ.

Yaxel is a Great ADD… but the real move is to play Wemby at the 4… The DRAFT really isn't getting this team back to the Finals… A 5 via trade or FA that can start next to Wemby reduces the physical wear and tear on Wemby, solving the problem of Wemby's fatigue late in games and the lack of length outside of Wemby and physicality this team just doesn't have
