9. Jalen Brunson's stats would have been similar but the outcome (Losing to the Spurs) would have been the same. Chet Holmgren disappeared in this series and in order for SGA OR Brunson to be successful versus the Spurs minus JB, Chet needed to replicate Karl Anthony Towns production in order to move Wemby out of the paint to create better opportunities & to attack Wemby from the Center position on offense to wear him down in the 4th. Chet did not do this, so whether with SGA or JB OKC was still losing.

I won’t get into who’s better cause their both the goods but you can’t give disclaimers as to why Shai ain’t ball out vs Spurs because of double teams etc.. when the same thing can be said about JB. JB faced the same exact team who had the same exact game plan (double teams soon as he gets to half court etc..) and JB still averaged 33 in the series and dropped 45 in the close out game 🤷🏾‍♂️

23. Shai had his chance to make it to the Finals. Jalen Brunson saw the same defense from SA that Shai did. Brunson dealt with it, took over games, and led the Knicks to a Championship in 5 games while averaging almost 33 pts per game.
