Not that I think Braden Smith is going to be a bad player, good chance he can contribute. The Pistons just traded two 2nd round picks for Isaiah Joe from OKC. Personally, I wish the Pacers would have called about Isaiah Joe before trading picks for a second round pick.
The complaints are because he's from Purdue. Large majority of Pacer fans are gonna root for the IU Hoosiers. He's been tearing them up for 4 years 😂.

Why are people saying we traded 2 2nds for Smith? We didn't. We gave Chicago the right to swap 2 2nds. No assets were given up for Braden Smith besides Kam, a guy who doesn't fit in here and was not going to see any playing time this year. We also freed up a roster spot and increased our MLE amount.
It scares me that everyone will post him up. That being said it he raises the level of practice for the rest of the guys who plays then I'll take it.

People who doubt Braden is like thinking he made the NCAA all time assist record with a much higher height and somehow suddenly he became shorter when he was drafted by Pacers, and now he needs prove he can do the same with his 5-11 size.
It was pick swaps. Not even full picks. And it’s a two way and getting off Kams roster spot. It gave the ability to make other moves.
I keep coming back to the fact that this Indiana and Purdue kid is well-known to the Pacers, and is the all-time assist leader in the NCAA's long and storied history. A Final 4 player. And then you add McConnell, Hali, and Nembhard as mentors? What I see is a future coach in NCAA or NBA. Would not mind having him on my bench, 'Cers.
