  2. I believe the Spurs SHOULD sign Robert Williams III or Kristop Portzingis! Granted Portzingis is a far reach considering cap restraints and penalties.

    Also look at a starting Center and allowing Wemby to play more of his natural PF position although positionless.
    Walker Kessler would be a great move although CAP restraints and penalties make Kessler unlikely.

    I think signing frenchmen Nicholas Batum and Guerschon Yabusele.
    The rookie Reed Jr will get reps but is NOT ready to be a full time quality starter. None of the rookies are starter materials this season. Real quality help this 26-27 season must come from free agency. Otherwise, this team just won't make it back to the finals for a few years.

  7. Rui only if his price c9mes down. He's not really an improvement over Julian. Yes, he scores better. But plays no defense, and is a notoriously bad rebounder. Julian is better in both areas.

  8. We aren't drafting our PF of the future, we are looking for someone for 2 years.

    I'd be willing to take LeBron if he wants to be here, for a year…for maybe 25-30. This would not be the old Le-GM version, not with this organization and Pop still at the helm…this would be coming here to win his 6th ring with a future GOAT candidate and a team that lacked…exactly what he can provide. He would also know he would be able to take it easy over the season and keep his energy for the playoffs, maybe 25 minutes a night. There are a ton of reasons he would make sense on both side. The real issues are for LeBron…not in LA, not a former team, especially Cleveland, and would getting that 6th ring tarnish him as a ring chaser?

    Julian will make more than we expect…I'm hoping we can do a 20/year contract at this point. Maybe in a declining 22/20/18 style to mesh with folks coming off rookie scales.

    Rui and Collins would be WAY less better fits than most people think. I'm actually against both of them, and they more likely would want 3-5 year deals. There are a fair number of decent placeholder PFs on that list…Precious, Yabusele, and I'm not actually against Barlow, and Oubre would be ok, but is too small for what we really want.

    We all dream of a PF who switch defend, block shots, rebound, and shoot 3s, but we have to prioritize what we want for this season, maybe next. Hopefully JQ will become all that. I'm not sure was the FO is looking for exactly in the short term. I wouldn't be surprised if we stick with HB, in a more diminished, vet role, and with what will be 3 rotational centers, have Wemby at the 4 more often, and more French Vanilla and Wemby/Reed combos on the floor.

  12. Rui or John Collins would be solid, but personally I'd like to get Trey Murphy. It would be worth trading for him, he's a solid defender and a walking bucket. We wouldn't really have to give up much for him. And he could play sf and pf

  14. This should be priority one for them. If their young bigs turn out well, the team will be in a great place for the present and future. On a semi-related side note. I'm ecstatic that they drafted Jayden Quaintance, who I am calling "The Geek Freak". If you learn about his personal interests/hobbies you'll understand. 🙂 He's a perfect fit for the Spurs culture and hope his recovery goes smoothly.

  17. Would not take Lebron even if he pays for playing in San Antonio. He would leave a hugh hole in the defense. Sochan would be funny 😀. But even though I like him and still think he can become a good NBA player, I also think he might be to light and small for what we need. He can be an off the bench player but the Spurs have drafted a couple of big men that also can do that. Maybe one of the rookies even can get the starting job over time…

  19. The ideal player just slipped through the fingers… 😢 Let me make it clear: Spurs don’t need a simple PF, they need an enforcer! Some Bill Laimbeer or Rasheed Wallace type of rough-rider, who would strike fear of God in opponents, if they as much as breathe on Wemby… The perfect candidate would have been Isiah Stewart, but the Pistons just traded him to Memphis… 😭 Now that is a massive mistake by B. Wright – should’ve traded for that guy…

  24. Hope they sign John Collins. We could probably get him at a one year rental starting off and if he’s good, extend him for two more years. or if they wanna go all in just a three year 45 million he has a three-point shot good in the paint and could catch lobs and would be a good pair with the Wemby in the front court. And rui would be cool but gonna be real expensive

  25. For me, the Spurs should keep the same starting five, with Champagnie at forward. With Wemby’s defensive system, he just needs to build strength and improve efficiency in the post. Also, add more scoring in the bench.

  28. I only want to spend money on champions or salary dump trades. The Spurs probably sign a guy theyre rumored to. Id be looking at Middleton as my favorite option.
