The Chicago Bulls are eyeing several key free agents to strengthen their roster for the upcoming 2026 NBA season, with Quentin Grimes emerging as a primary target. Quentin Grimes, a talented guard, is a UFA who could provide scoring and defensive prowess to the Bulls’ backcourt. Peyton Watson, an RFA forward, offers youth and versatility, potentially fitting into Tiago Splitter’s system alongside Matas Buzelis and Caleb Wilson. Rui Hachimura, a UFA forward, brings veteran experience and a reliable mid-range game, while John Collins, another UFA forward, could add frontcourt scoring and rebounding. Norman Powell, a UFA guard, is known for his instant offense off the bench, which could be valuable for the Bulls’ second unit featuring Rob Dillingham and Noa Essengue.

With a significant $33.0 million in cap space, the Chicago Bulls possess the 2nd most financial flexibility in the NBA, allowing them to pursue various strategies in free agency. This substantial cap space provides the Bulls with the opportunity to not only sign free agents but also to absorb undesirable contracts from other teams, potentially acquiring additional assets in the process. This approach could be crucial for a team like the Bulls, who are looking to build around young talents such as Josh Giddey, Dailyn Swain, and Caleb Wilson. Head Coach Tiago Splitter and the front office will need to carefully balance signing immediate impact players with long-term roster construction, especially with key bench players like Jalen Smith and Leonard Miller developing.

  1. Bulls ain't winning titles without a 7'3" antidote.
You had him, sent him away.
You could get him back for a future 2nd, with a season to heavy duty train him.

  2. Bro you keep saying bulls only going win 35 games and you same guy that wanted lavine and vooch not to get traded 😂 stop putting a number on there wins don’t even know who’s on team yet what if they win 50+ games you set your self up to look like you have no clue what you’re talking about. Hey take notes from front office and coaches stop with your weird takes are you a bulls fan or Hater can’t really tell with you most of the time.

  3. If you want to take in a bad contract, go get my guy Nikola Jovic.

6’11” just turned 23 this month. Had 2 really promising seasons with the Heat and was Team Serbia’s best player after Joker in Eurobasket, which landed him the 4 year $62M contract.

In those 2 seasons, he was shooting 40% on good volume. Could run the pick and roll very well, was awesome leading transition offense. Serviceable on defense. Earned a starting role, but was derailed by injuries. Great convective passing, had awesome chemistry with lob threats.

He was bad last year because they gave his role to Jaime Jaquez, took the bro out of his hands, took the pick and roll out of the offense, and played him at center.

I think you could easily get him to outperform his contract while picking up an asset to take in his salary.

  4. I like the idea of the bulls signing a guy like bismak or kcp, probably won’t play any minutes but this young bulls team needs a veteran (preferably with champion experience) to be in the locker room with them, I do know that can technically be splitter but I think the bulls can benefit from having a vet suit up with them

  5. There is no way the bulls add a free agent SF/PF to this roster this year. If we get one, its going to be a guy with a bad contract via trade, and they likely wont get to play much since our young guys need to play.

    Matas
    Caleb Wilson
    Noa Essengue
    Patrick Williams
    Leonard Miller

There is a log jam at the forward positions. No way in hell we add another in free agency.

  6. I think we should be good on Small & Power Forwards. We enough there with Buzelis, Wilsom, Noah, and Miller. To me figuring out whose staying in the backcourt from last year is key and then addeding a shooting guard who can shoot and defend. I like the Grimes idea or even Dort if the Thunder are willing to give him up
