Raptors Make Multiple Moves… More Moves Coming

2. OMG, they actually brought a centre into camp but this Bittle won't cut it ! They will cut him or he will go and wallow in the G league ! He is not as good as others the Raptors have brought in . He is injury prone as well !!

   Raptors are a terrific organization at choosing quality undrafted players.
   Bittle looks rugged – like a Back 40' Woodsmen you don't want to f*ck with! I like this move.
   Centers in the NBA are hard to develop and even the best of them, tend by larger numbers to be the 4th/5th option. Even high picks like Mobley have serious holes – it is a tough position to play. Personally, I hate taking flyers on centers unless its second rnd, or undrafted deals – they are too low in percentages to be a formidable player compared to the other positions in the NBA.

6. I’m surprise Ben did title this video “Raptors sign sniper” 😂😂 That being said I like Bittle. He’s a better prospect than Carlson was. I think he get’s a 2 way spot once we get rid of guys like Mogbo and then we need a big man in the system. Remember we don’t know what’s going on with Ulrich, or if he will ever be a Raptor again. A number of team were interested in Bittle and that’s why we likely gave him a training camp deal right away instead of just a Summer League deal. Him and his agent know he’s coming to training camp. It also keeps other teams away if he shows out in Summer League. If they had just give him a summer League deal another team have could just give him a NBA deal if he’s killing it like the Bulls did when we had a player on our Summer league roster name Rawle Alkins. He was killing it at Summer League and the Bulls gave him a NBA deal right after summer league, and he took their deal instead of ours. Giving Bittle a training camp deal instead of just a Summer League deal means another team can’t snatch him up if he’s putting up numbers in Summer League. That’s because the Raptors know other teams had interest in him. His agent is just smart enough to know we have no real centers other than Jakob. He has a real chance of a 2 way deal here.

11. We can’t be burning roster spots on gerret temple anymore. He’s gotta be an assistant coach. With Martin, Bradley coming in as guards. I guess Gradey is gone. Which is to bad. I can see him becoming at least a 38% shooter. He’s still only what, 22?

13. People still crying for a centre. They want two way guys for the main roster. Bittle isn’t a great defender. But he can play in the drop coverage and he can stretch the floor on offence. So he’s passable.

15. The Raptors are going to take a step back this year because once again they will let GAMES slip away AGAIN when they don't have a bonafide CENTRE TO BACKUP POELTL. And if I can see what is coming WHY doesn't the Raptor management SEE IT ! The other teams in their division have improved especially Atlanta because they drafted A CENTRE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN OURS ! It doesn't matter how hard you work if you are physically over matched YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WIN. THE RAPTORS ALSO LACK SHOOTING , EVERY YEAR THEY LACK SHOOTING AND DO NOTHING ABOUT IT ! SAME WEAKNESSES AS LAST YEAR.

Solid signing in Bittle, we now have four different looks at the 5 next season; Poeltl as a traditional screen setting big, TJD as an athletic rim runner, CMB as a small ball 5 with ultimate switchability and Bittle as a stretch big. No point in making moves just to make moves, better off letting the young guys develop until an opportunity presents itself

23. When I think of Martin, I always think of the Boston OT game, he almost dunked on like 5 guys that game and played all of OT.

29. I like Bittle's fit in the system a lot more than other centers we've brought in recently because of his passing and hands. I also like that he's a stretch 5 who also plays a lot in the post. Sometimes bigs who can shoot the 3 are a little shy to use physical advantages but with Bittle that's not the case at all. At the very least he'll let us run the same plays on the 905 as we do in the big club and with his physical maturity he has a shot at earning that final 2-way and playing real minutes in the NBA. I'd rather have a vet but if we want to keep RJ we have to find guys who can do the job for less.
