BLOCKBUSTER: New Orleans Pelicans REACT to Jaylen Brown Trade, Trey Murphy Value SOARS in NBA Market

Boston Celtics shake up the NBA landscape, sending Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George and draft assets—leaving the New Orleans Pelicans’ trade prospects for Trey Murphy III in question. Could Murphy, now one of the league’s most valuable contracts, command even more than Brown? Jake Madison examines why smart front offices are prioritizing affordable talent and how contract structure is driving blockbuster deals under the new salary cap aprons.

Madison breaks down the Pelicans’ trade strategy, from sky-high asking prices for Trey Murphy III and Herb Jones to the complicated roster and luxury tax dynamics blocking major moves. Is New Orleans running it back by default, or will a timely Murphy trade reshape the core? Plus, Yves Missi’s surprising emergence as a franchise cornerstone draws trade interest from the Knicks and Lakers. Will the Pelicans seize their best window to act, or risk another stagnant season?

  1. Knicks fans here but I’m damn near a every dayer because I want to see you guys get better, wish we could’ve got missi tho 😮‍💨

  2. My problem with TM3 trade is that they missed a very important lottery draft pick in a very stacked draft either from the Hawks or the Warriors. No matter what, these no way someone will offer a better deal. Now you have less teams bidding or same teams with worse assets. They already somewhat missed a window to maximize the value in my opinion. Not really sure how desperate Boston and Detroit are

  3. i think you are hitting on something important here. fears may be “untouchable”, but if the spurs offer wemby and 3 1st round picks, how “untouchable” is fears now?
