A Tale of Two Fans: Brockman(Celtics) & TJ(76ers) React to Jaylen Brown Trade | The Rich Eisen Show

1. This year the Celtics are going to be better than anyone thinks as long as Tatum is healthy. Jalen Brown was a bulldog, but he was high usage inefficient and his on-off numbers really stunk. The Celtics were smart to unload him, but unfortunately, the rest of the league, the people with the checkbooks , are not as impressed with Jalen Brown, as Jalen Brown is.
   Pritchard is going to be a mini Bronson and the Celtics gonna rock.
   And now they have flexibility because they traded a $320 million contract for a $60 million contract and an expiring in Paul George who can still sling it and play defense.
   Overall, I’m really happy for Jaylen too because now he can have fun playing with his friends and he doesn’t have to worry so much about winning .

4. I’m surprised with him being traded to their main rival. But I think if they’re trying to win now like the Rams in football cool. It’s a long shot but getting Lebron would be interesting. Not sure the egos could work together. But if my Bulls can’t get him, then it’d be cool to watch how it worked out in Philly. Never been a fan of Lebron, MJ all the way. However there’s no doubt Lebron is the best of his era. And if he wants to chase another ring go for it. More power to him. I didn’t like Rodman but was glad the Bulls got him.

21. Celtics are 47 and 10 over the last 4 years without Brown in the lineup. Celtics did it for financial reasons. Celtics will be fine.

22. I’ve been a 76ers fan for 50 long years now. Strangely enough, I think LeBron is coming to Philly, and I cab’t believe I’m saying it.

    Why? Well –

    1. LeBron has said he wants to play in a good situation with people he likes. He and Joel got tight as part of the Olympic team and apparently co-own a media company.

    2. He’s a big fan of Tyrese Maxey. They’ve trained together the last few summers and LeBron even got him and Rich Paul together.

    3. LeBron has said he’s really impressed with Jaylen Brown’s game and thought he should have been the MVP last year.

    4. Not only was Mike Gansey part of the Cavs front office when LeBron won the chip with Cleveland, but the year Bron won Mr. Basketball in Ohio, guess who came in second? Mike Gansey. Apparently that summer the All-State team did some sort of showcase / All-Star /AAU thing together and got to be friends.

    So if it’s a good environment with a chance to win and people he likes, plus a direct line to the GM -this is the place.

    Oh – one last last thing. Since the Jaylen Brown manna from heaven, we’ve signed combo guards, tweeners, and even a backup center – but Dean Wade is our only PF.

23. In the end the Celtics front office did not feel JB was worth the salary slot he was currently in. Apparently 29 other teams agreed. Hopefully he takes the high road on his way out & goes to his new team w/ the mindset to prove them all wrong!
