Guys it’s time to let the Melo trade go and why it happened
I don't understand why anyone is confused by the Melo trade? The FO doesn't think he can be healthy enough to lead a team to the playoffs and then through multiple playoff series. Melo has always struggled with super physical defense. Imagine what he's gonna look like against a actual playoff defense, and a playoff series is grueling, it's super physical game after game after game. The FO doesn't believe Melos body will hold up. He's 24 and needed his minutes restricted to 28 or less just to get him through a season and he still missed 10 games. He would've been up for a 2 year extension this year and paying 30% of the roster to a player that can't stay healthy isn't smart. For the first time in 3 years Melo actually had trade value, so they took that chance to move on from him. They got draft assets and a 24 year old player that's the opposite of Melo. Naz actually plays better in the playoffs, he plays better when the lights are the brightest and he doesn't cost $60m per year like Melo would've if he stayed and got the 2 extra years

My dealbreaker wasn't trading Miles Bridges, extending Coby White, or even trading Melo. It's acquiring Grayson Allen. Absolutely go ** yourself, Grayson Allen.

I really blame Adam Silver for where the NBA is now. IDK that we see a move like trading LaMelo or Jatlen Brown and all this asset collection without all the current CBA. We'll likely see a bunch of instability on NBA rosters all over the place. Hell, we might be seeing a radically different team in two years, frankly.
Terrible off-season ! Made some Nico Harrison like moves 🤡! Traded your biggest star, engine of your team & show time draw…. Acquired a bunch of assets….. All to not get any All-Star or Super star players 💀! Broke up a young core with so much upside that found a rhythm and things finally clicked…. I guess mediocrity is the name of the game 💀…… This team isn't closer to contention… They won't have a better record than last season and they won't be as fun to watch….
