What do the Cleveland Cavaliers have to do if LeBron James signs with another team in free agency?
The Cleveland Cavaliers can’t afford to let their entire offseason hinge on one player—even if that player is LeBron James. If LeBron signs elsewhere, Koby Altman will have to pivot quickly and decide whether to pursue another impact wing, add more depth around Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and James Harden, or make a larger trade that changes the makeup of the roster. After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals but falling short against the eventual champion New York Knicks, standing pat may not be enough in an improving Eastern Conference.
The bigger question is what Plan B should actually look like. Should the Cavaliers shift their focus to younger targets like Jonathan Kuminga, pursue another established veteran, or trust that internal growth from Mobley and the current core is enough to take the next step? If LeBron isn’t coming home, what move gives Cleveland the best chance to compete for a championship right now?

Who's the dillweed in the middle? Get rid of him
Shut up, bull. Embiid is never on the court . And hes the only argument that philly gives him the better chance over cleveland. Go work in cincy or for the cubs, your fav shitty teams 😂
They didn't get swept by the Knicks and struggle against both the Raptors and Pistons because Harden and Mitchell need time to learn to play together. That's such a BS take. They struggle against good teams because they lack talent at wing and don't have anyone who can stop opposing offenses at the point of attack.
Plan b is tyson proctor maleek Thomas
What are we talking about plan B? Is there another future Hall of Famer who is still a top-25 player in the game and willing to sign a well-below market contract out there? Plan B is sign Harden and run it back without LeBron. Maybe they pick up a couple players on minimums or trade Jarrett Allen if something pops up, but they have no cap flexibility and no ability to bring in money without sending it out.
They need to put a muzzle on Bulls mouth when 🏀 is the topic
This team can win a championship! Even without any new additions I promise you. The problem is they have to be more disciplined, and make momentum shots. Coaching needs to be tighter. ALL THROUGHOUT the playoffs their BIGGEST problems were turnovers, and lack of adjustments made by Kenny. Also the Cavs shooters NEED to start making shots. So many times when they could’ve changed the trajectory of a game by making open shots they couldn’t hit. This team is no slouch.
The 76ers President is making a strong pitch to his Agent Rich Paul. The 76ers have Jalen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and Joel Embiid. If he joins that squad, they could win it all. I don't think the Cavs could win it all with their current roster. It is something to consider.
