SUMMER TEST: Orlando Magic have A LOT TO LEARN about their team, young players in Las Vegas

The Orlando Magic are off to Las Vegas as they prepare for their Summer League opener on Thursday. This Summer League feels different than previous seasons despite the lack of young players and impactful rookies on the roster.

This Summer League will give the Magic their first look at their new coaching staff and the kind of team they want to be. They will also get to see progress from young players like Jase Richardson and Noah Penda as they try to crack the Magic’s regular rotation.

They will get their chance. So will so many other players on this roster. This is a deeper and more veteran Summer League roster than the Magic typically bring to Vegas. There should be plenty of opportunity to go around heading into training camp.

  3. Pistons just offloaded 21 mio off their cap sheet while receiving Gary Harris and Taurean Prince on expiring minimum contracts. For two second round picks and a big expiring pistons contract with the Bucks who our FO has soooo great connections to? Its so sad. I stay with my sentiment: This FO is just not doing their job when it comes to dealing with other organizations.

  7. I don't understand why the organization doesn't play their draft and second year players in all their summer league games. Hopefully they will play them more than two games. Weltman is relying on growth again. Penda could have a special season this year. Jase, still not sure about him. Hopefully both will show out, otherwise we are in big trouble.
