Wemby accepting a discount is the ultimate coward move. He doesn't think he can win without getting more help than other superstars who take the full max.
Wemby does not have to consider how it impacts the Nuggets. He made a decision that he wants titles and money. He took less money for the prospect of more titles. The CBA is an agreement between that was reached between players and the owners. Jokic should take the money. The Nuggets do not have the supporting players the Spurs do.

I can't bring myself to feeling bad for wemby when he's still getting 252 million! He's not getting screwed. He had a choice to get the best team possible or the money.
They players aren't babies, the players and the union took a slave deal because there was more money upfront. They didn't care about how the second apron impacted the trade market. They have no one to blame but themselves.

I dont think its possible for me to disagree more. The salary cap is a good thing because it keeps teams on somewhat of an competitive playing feild. Its good for the league and its good for competition especially small amd mid market teams. Otherwise leagues look like MLB in that BS product. I hate to break it to you but Denver is that midmarket team and would never win a ring again. Teams should suffer from signing bad contracts i.e. 52 mil per year for Murray or 25 for CB…. this are terrible contracts and should have never been signed and if Denver would have sinply (not given that garbage out) then they aren't in this situation. If Murray is making t he 40 he should be making and CB is making the 15 he should be making then Denver doesn't have this Watson problem full stop. Now if a aging 33 old Jokic next year is unwilling to take less to win I say that tells you more about Jokic than anything else. 700 to 800mil over a career is insane money and isn't like he will suffer. Go get some more endorsements but if money is more important than legacy thats a you issue. Brunson, Wemby and Tom Brady wanted to win….. does Jokic?
