  1. I agree wirh Tony and will go even further. Nothing anyone does in summer league will effect the FO decisions. The 2ways are going to belobg to Braden Smith Kobe Brown and Ethan Thompson and that's the way it was going into Summer League. ET is playing for the PR National team. That's the guy you keep, not Peter or Slawson or Yuki. It's already a done deal it's just not public news yet.

  2. Jalen Slawson is your prototypical wing, I think his athleticism and energy/hustle earn him a spot even though we still have 3+ months left to evaluate with SL, TC, and Preseason.

Kobe Brown was a bright spot and I was surprised nobody else gave him a standard contract because I think he deserved one, us having him on our roster and not hurting our cap or tax is good business, he makes the Zubac trade look even better if he continues to be a solid depth piece.

Braden Smith is interesting because you can see the vision with his ability to set guys up and run an offense but he doesn’t have much speed or athleticism like a TJ to get to his spots or shoot over guys, would like to see him get better this offseason because he’s definitely intriguing if he does.

Ethan Thompson deserves a spot too, he’s a good defender and showed high motor and some decent shooting last year.

Taelon Peter is the odd man out for me, his overall game is way too inconsistent.

  3. I remember you mentioning that the Pacers have enough space for a 1 year minimum (played for 1 year in the nba, not contract length). I was curious if the Pacers may look to sign Peter or Thompson to one of these contracts, in order to open up another two-way spot for someone else.

Am I right in assuming this is an option, and if so is it in any way probable?

  4. To be completely honest, Braden Smith doesn’t deserve a 2-way, if he’s struggling this bad to make shots, and just be assertive in general, against summer league players, in which most won’t make a roster, and at best, will be a G League player, and I think that’s his ceiling, it’s a shame that the Pacers have invested in him, therefore I’m sure they feel obligated to give him more if a chance than other more talented, deserving players, and I’m tired of hearing fans talk about what he did in college, that’s the worst way to evaluate him at this time, he’s playing against way better players now, and he looks out of place out there!! The Asian kid looks waaaaaaay more deserving of a 2-way than Smith does, and that speaks volumes as to just how bad Smith looks, he’s NOT NBA talent, hate to say it with him being a hometown kid, and having played in state college, and now in state professionally, but he looks lost, and really inept to put it mildly!!!!

  5. Slawson, and Brown are both worth keeping, and maybe the big that keeps posting double doubles, just because depth at the Center position is needed in my opinion, but other than those 3 guys, I do t really see anyone worth a roster spot, maybe keep Peter, and Thompson on the Boom, just in case of injury, and because they’re still relatively young, and could still develop into a player worthy of a roster spot in the future….

  6. Brooklyn Nets aren’t playing Grant Nelson in summer league bc they don’t want another team to signing a two way for pennies after cutting him for playing too well last season while actively tanking

  7. 3:15 The guys we thought were going to be good in Summer League haven’t been and guys we didn’t expect much out of have produced results therefore ignore the basketball played on the court and wildly project based on those previous assumptions instead. Solid logic bro.

  8. Not a Purdue fan, that’s seems important to people on Braden… you don’t cut a 38th draft pick before he plays a season. Period, bad business. Q is a player on an awesome contract that can play. Peter and Smith r the only available players to sign to a standard contract, that’s it. U don’t sign those guys because that increases the Pacers tax penalty too.
