I’m interested to see what kind of lineups he runs. Some of kidds lineups and rotations always drove me crazy
You gotta imagine the developmental angle they’re pushing for Tobi is all 3s. Similar to a DFS development path. Just have coaches work with his shot, work on shooting tons of 3s in the G league. If he can minimally develop both a pick and pop (3 point) and lob threat offensive bag, he’s probably at least NBA viable based on his athleticism

As long as they’re healthy it’s easy to predict the Mavs being way better than last year , Kyrie back , year 2 of Cooper , and way better shooting.
Last year was a recipe for a bad season with all of the injuries, no starting level point guard ,all below average to bad 3 point shooting besides Klay and Christie and Coop being left as a best player at 18/19.
I feel a little bad for Kidd because many will probably say the difference is Dusty May but he’s walking into a way better situation roster wise than Kidd dealt with last season.
Only real concern I have is how deep the West is and health, will Lively and Kyrie play 60 plus games determines the ceiling of this team.
This position less basketball I think will slow development not accelerate it. There isn’t one thing that coop excelled at last season. I think refining skills that are natural to him first and then working inside out is the best approach. I don’t see what’s the difference is between this season and last with Kidd if this is the case. Coop on ball was pretty bad last season. Give him a set position first. Coop will not be a good 1 or 2 next season.
I grew up where dusty May grew up. Shout out Indiana. My uncle was boys with him back in the day.
For Flagg to be a primary ball handler I hope he has worked on his handle bc it’s wasn’t good enough to be a primary ball handler

If I'm coach I say:" Coop, the court is your canvas… Go paint and have fun. I'll have him running around like Curry, cutting, putting pressure an the defense to set guys up, cutting in front/behind the rim to get his points doing the dirty work but practice that 3 ball like there's no tomorrow cause is going to make his game more easier and it will space the floor real nice. That the only thing lacking in his tools
