CHECKUP: Orlando Magic Summer League Standouts SHINE | Magic’s Rookies MATURE
The Orlando Magic’s Summer League squad scored a second straight impressive win as their Summer League team continues to come together.
Noah Penda and Jase Richardson sat out the Magic’s third Summer League game. In their first two games, they showed improved maturity and composure as second-year players. They have made significant gains.
But both will still face questions on how they can contribute to the main roster when training camp opens. They both still have work to do even with successful Summer League runs.
They are not the only ones enjoying strong showings. Lester Quinones led the Magic with 30 points in an overtime win over the Blazers and continues to demand attention. He has all the skills the Magic want.
Colin Castleton, Alex Morales, Phillip Wheeler and TyTy Washington also continue to intrigue as the Magic field their most talented Summer League team in some time.

Jace is lost on defense consistently. Look at his body language he acts immature af
Castleton can shoot but doesn’t defend at all
Penda plays well but he is NOTHING of what you just hyped him up to be. Go look at other teams guys who are what you described Penda to be.., Penda should be dominating and scoring 25 a game and getting 10 rebounds a game …
He is getting back up numbers against guys who aren’t going to make the NBA, think about that …
Quinones is the best player on the team
And #20 Wheeler, has the best drive, energy, jumping ability, defense, speed, always at the right place, constantly open in the corner, I like him a lot !!!
But first ☝️
Play the song for a summer league win🎼🎵🎶🔊
JI better not be the backup 4, penda way more versatile than defense only JI. That is when he isn't in street clothes
Magix might have blown this entire rebuild drafting Jett Howard. This team feels a player or two short. Orlando has no depth
So Jace is small and isn’t elite in anything. So pretty much the front office wasted a draft pick.
Lester is literally everything we are missing they have to give him a two way at the least
jase is legit yaw forget the boston away game already???
Great show Philip. It would be nice to have a couple roster spots instead of one which makes the Issac signing a real head scratcher.
To discredit Jase is ignoring his skill set. May be our 2nd best three point shooter on the team. His release in the paint is at 6'7" overcoming his 6'1" height. He can penetrate (above average ball skills) and stop on a dime and shoot a fade away jumper creating space. He plays bigger than his size. When he dribbles he goes past people which is a testament to his penetration creating spacing. He will only get better unlike Jett Howard. Sweeney praised him in game one which was his worst of the two games when he missed several short shots. Let Sweeney attempt to develop him because Mosley did not.
Castleton 0-4 on free throws almost lost the game by missing those FT. We need a center in next year's first round so I agree Castleton dies not have what is needed.
need Quinones on the starting team. coming off the bench.
We need a rim protector
