Larry Johnson turned in one of the finest performances of his Hornets career, pouring in a game-high 39 points as Charlotte rolled past the New York Knicks 105-90 at the Charlotte Coliseum. Johnson shot 15-of-22 from the field, buried 6-of-8 from three-point range, added 3 rebounds and 6 assists, and scored 25 points in one half to overwhelm New York.

Charlotte caught fire from deep, knocking down 13-of-19 three-pointers against Patrick Ewing and the Knicks. Head coach Allan Bristow even sent Johnson back into the game late so the home crowd could see “Grandmama” reach the 39-point mark.
