LeBron James declines to announce free agent decision on live podcast; TBD on a timetable for Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers are still waiting. LeBron James chose not to announce his free agency decision during Thursday’s live podcast appearance, leaving Cleveland fans with more questions than answers and no clear timetable for when the NBA’s biggest domino will finally fall. With every passing day, speculation continues to grow, but the Cavaliers—and the rest of the league—remain stuck in a holding pattern until LeBron makes his choice.

The bigger question is whether the continued delay says anything about where LeBron is leaning. Is the lack of a decision a positive sign that he’s carefully weighing a return to Cleveland, or does it simply mean there are still too many moving pieces to sort through? At what point should the Cavaliers stop waiting and fully commit to another offseason plan if an announcement still doesn’t come?

  1. Ive loved lebron every eince he was in high school and will be forever grateful for helping us win in 2016. Otherwise id have probabably lived my entire life and would never have seen a championship in this city. Having said that, at this point, idgaf where he goes, it just doesnt carry that kind of weight anymore to me🤷

  2. James retiring in cleveland would make for a nice story, but if u were in ur retiremwnt year, wouldnt u wanna go play w ur friends? I feel like gsw has the last of his friends who havent retired.

  3. Like it or Not ; LeBron James NBA career is a Motion Picture Movie ; &😅 his last stop would be Entertaining in Cleveland; Those you who are Negative ; That's your Problem' ; King James come back To the CAVS & get another RING ! We Believe 😮 BelieveLand

  4. They're talking about his decline, but Lbj would still be the best player on the cavs with the current roster. Actually, he's gonna be the best player on whichever team he chooses

  5. No one is talking about him signing a 1 year contract to play with his friends, then comes home the following year and playing his final season in Cleveland. I totally think this is what's gonna happen.

  6. LeBron is playing the Cavs like a fiddle. If he doesn't come to Cleveland, they just wasted their off season. They should have been making moves to improve the roster. They don't need to make him a priority especially after all of this drama.

They are a business, they need to think about the long term. Everyone in the Cavs front office would be fired if this was a serious franchise. They are a joke and LeBron knows it.

  7. When you realize Jordan only came back to the wizards because LeBron was going to be or was on the magazine, saying the chosen one at in high school 2001 is the year for what both of them and then he didn’t retire until the year LeBron was coming into the league. It was either a you think you’re the chosen one kind of thing or a past the torch kind of thing.

  8. Lebron on the Cavs last year more than likely get to the Finals. Nobody sees it like that, which is why he will get all the credit when they do it next year with him. Golden State wouldn't get past the 2nd round

  9. Why are Golden State's odds so high on Kalshi? Because there's a lot of money in their fan base, including the season ticket holders who are very hopeful in landing Lebron. It isn't smart money, it's emotional and hopeful money

  10. He is the biggest narcissist in sports history. Do you think the Lakers are sad that he’s gone they’re happy. They don’t have to deal with his foolishness anymore.

  11. If he doesn't come to Cleveland…Cleveland fans should be angry and pissed. To string us along again like this is bullshit. We could've made a ton of moves by now and be dome with free agency.

  12. Bet he isnt going to make a big show out of it like he did the first time because he is so much more mature and sees how it hurt and disrespected the city that drafted him #1 and he grew up from down the road.

  13. It's not a fun exiting story. It's boring as hell, which is why I turned off this video one minute into it. He is holding up the entire league. They can't even put out the schedule until they know where he is playing, and the Cavs can't build their roster for the upcoming season either until he decides. Other teams are stuck waiting too. The only people who enjoy this are LeBron and the media.

  14. Jay is oftentimes a blowhard. He was dead on when he said how dominant Lebron “could be.” I don’t know if he did it deliberately. I’ve always said that Lebron was the most physically gifted athlete I’ve ever seen. But he selected when he wanted to use it. It was odd. He could take a game over whenever he wanted. He didn’t do it as often as you’d think a person with that ability would.

  15. Players play for

    1) Money and 2) Rings

Lebron is the OLDEST player in the league and has played the MOST minutes, games and seasons ALL TIME

Even though Lebron is still playing at a high level, WITH THAT KIND OF MILEAGE….. their should be NO CRITIQUE or NEGATIVITY if Lebron is going for or gets another ring

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

    TRUTH IS:

Lebron James is still FEEDING Industries and Careers

    (Podcast Content Included)

Even the NBA is waiting on Lebron so they can FEED the industries and get Lebron James on TV…….. FACT

YES ADAM SILVER just said……. Lebron make your decision so that we can MAKE MONEY OFF YOU …… opening day….Christmas day…etc.

As for the NBA or LEBRON HATERS encouraging Lebron to make a decision……. how about Adam Silver get the 1 YEAR LONG KWAI LEONARD investigation done…..and haters for Lebron give the NBA that same negative energy…….TO THE KWAI LEONARD MALFEASANCE….that appeared to breach and violate an ACTUAL NBA rule.

Teams (at least 4 that can win a ring – after OKC, Spurs and Knicks) do want Lebron on their team……. FACT

Lebron has EARNED the right to take his time to decide how to STICK THE LANDING to his ICONIC NBA Career…..

Encouragement to RUSH a decision and criticizing the speed of someone else FREE AGENCY DECISION goes against the spirit of a free agency decision……..the rule doesn't say HURRY UP AND MAKE A DECISION ….
