What do you all think of the Lu Dort Trade?
I think cason Wallace gets extended love the way he emerged during the spurs series
Eventually ^
I like it he becomes more one way than 2 way in the playoff setting.
Also if AJ Mitchell and Dub were healthy his game time would of been less because of his offense limitations. would of been there for short minutes getting fouls.
All the guys that have left will get more game time and exposure also.
Sorber better hit all the same.
Wasn’t Paul George under contract when he asked to be traded 🤷🏽♂️. I’d keep an eye on SGA over the next few years. You have to keep your franchise player happy. I guarantee you this move doesn’t make him happy 🤷🏽♂️
Not a ball move? Bro Cason Wallace is better at everything it’s his time.
The roster is objectively worse today. Two of the four first round picks must step up, and full recoveries for Ajay and Jdub are absolutely necessary.
Getting under the cap gives us trade flexibility should the above not pan out and a trade is needed
Robert Frost
nah it's addition by subtraction, Cason Wallace and Ajay Mitchell are way better and deserve more minutes
When can OKC use the trade exemption of 17 million?
Can we get Russell Westbrook back now?
Excellent take Rylan…first-class sports journalism…we must obtain a back up for J Dub…I am still concerned about his hamstrings.
Were all three second roind picks Atlanta's? Why is it coupled to the Dallas deal?
Starters: C. Wallace, SGA, J. Dub, C. Holmgren, Hartenstein. Next Five: A. Mitchell, A. Caruso, L. James or K. Williams J. Williams, T. Sorber. Last Five: A. Mara, N. Topic, J. McClain, B. Sturz, last Spot — 6’7 – 6’9 lengthy wing.
Great work. You’re the only OKC Podcast that doesn’t cope and takes your role as a journalist seriously vs the wanna be journalists over at “Down2Dunk”, who do nothing but cope because they’re not journalists, they’re homers. Keep up the good work.
I understand this because eventually we're going to have to pay a Wallace we're going to have to pay Mitchell possibly even jwill if he has another good season
Dort had to go. Rylan, you're wrong on this. Dort was awful the entire season.
MarkD had no business starting him. He literally shot us oymut of the spurs series.
Anyone saying dort shouldn't have gotten traded didn't watch him play because anyone eyes saw how bad he was. Stop living in the past. Dort isn't gping to get any better.
It's cadoand Ajay's time.
At least dort got traded to an up and coming team.
Nikola Topic will get a massive look at next season. The writing is on the wall.
It's also an improvement to OKC's image. Dort is a dirty player.
This is the one that hurts the most. Love Lu. This felt like the first pillar of our identity to fall. Zai and Wiggs were great but Lu's been there from the beginning. Great story. Was the thunder. Hope he's great in ATL
This is just a massive upgrade going from dort in the starting lineup to mitchell. he is more of a true point guard so he will play perfectly alongside sga and jdub and will take on much of the ballhandling which will allow those two to not only conserve energy but play their natural positions as shooting guards and he's an excellent defender, arguably better than Dort who regressed both offensively and defensively last year. it is amazing that we won a championship with dort and now will have a massive upgrade in that starting lineup. nobody is beating okc in a 7 game playoff series if they're healthy. no chance.
I disagree with going off on a tangent about how big of a mistake It is to not overpay to keep dort. If Lu was good last year I’d bet we suck it up and pay the big luxury
getting under the second apron when you can is the right move.
I feel like okc, has been treating their players right, waaaaay more then other teams. Sucks that okc has to do this. Dorts banner will always be with okc fans! Stinks that dort is about to be in his prime.
They Were Bench Players For Us But We Gave Up 3 Starting Level Talented Players .. That 2nd Apron & CBA Is Bullshit .. We Didn’t Really Lose Much But As A Fan Base We Just Lost Some Core Members Because The NBA Doesn’t Know How To Correct Itself
I think Thunder opted in to Dorts team option in part so they could control what team he plays on next season.
Thunder save money, get picks, and get rid of one of the dirtiest players in the league. I like it.
Correct me if I am wrong Rylan, but didn’t you say that the team should avoid the second apron for as long as they can? It’s friggin, Lu Dort for crying out loud. This is not a big deal. You and Schlecht need to calm down about this trade.
Dort had to go so we can pay Cason
I hope you’re right but history tells me that every business in the history of capitalism will chase profits over all else. Goodwill due to fan support, free arena, etc, is well and good insomuch as the company is maximizing profits and long term value.
