I don’t think it’s a stretch to say if the Mavs make the playoffs next season with the moves they were able to make because of trading AD, I.e. using the trade exception to take a swing on Risacher for nothing, bringing in Aldama, having the space to acquire other shooting pieces around Flagg, then the AD trade will be immediately justified and vindicated.

16. What a load. The only reason that the Mavs had to trade Street Clothes was because of the massive own goal of acquiring him in the first place.

    Truthfully, would you rather have the Mavs as now constructed or have the roster filled out around Luka? Give me Luka, Kyrie + complimentary pieces every time. Much more fun to watch and much more dangerous come the playoffs.

18. Yall trippin, a healthy ad and tray is a playoff team for sure and a possible ecf depending on matchups. Hell if WE had a healthy ad and Kai going into year 2 coop, I wouldn’t be shocked if WE made it to the wcf at all. It’s FAR easier for them to do it in Washington than Dallas, but if WE have a chance, they’re for sure a playoff team in the east. I wouldn’t be shocked if they did like tray did in ATL and run off 50+ wins on the way to ecf. You have one of the best passers in the game feeding AJ and AD. An elite passer who is also himself, a bucket. Then the team is filled with a bunch of young buckets that will thrive in all the open space made by Ice tray-ad-aj. They have 3 certified scorers surrounded by a bunch of young scorers, AND a young 2 way big who will allow AD to play the door. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED IN DALLAS, they just have more good young talent 😂😂. I’m actually excited to see Washington. I think they shock the league fr, IF ad plays at least 50-55 games and is healthy for the playoffs

25. If the mavs did not trade AD, they could have just shut him down (just like what WAS did), full blown tank and the mavs could have ended up with a higher pick… then this off season, with all the Lediva drama, the mavs could trade AD and/Kyrie to the team that Lediva prefers.

27. Do we think Russel Westbrook would be a bad Vet minimum signing? I know our roster is completely full. But I can see him being a veteran to have to lead our young guys t. Again I know we are rebuilding and developing our young guys. But we would like a backup guard to feel more comfortablewith our offense and no one has sign him yet.

29. Even with hindsight, I think trading AD when they did was a mistake. Masai and Schmitz have done an admirable job in manufacturing some value and taking some reclamation project swings, but let's be real, the chances any one of Sasser/Biberovic/Aldama/Risacher become anything more than rotation players is pretty low.

    But imagine if you had AD and Kyrie on the team who could both recruit LeBron. I dunno about you, but it would be pretty cool to see LeBron reunite with the two co-stars he won a ring with, along with the next in line with Coop. You're saying you're going to turn down a chance at basketball history for the sake of Marcus Sasser and Tarik Biberovic instead of the GOAT trying to make a run with two other hall of famers? Come on.

    As for AD demanding out, well he's certainly not doing so right now with the Wizards even though there's no indication they're giving him a sight unseen max. In fact, he seems totally bought in with the team. Also, it makes no sense that you'd suddenly have to attach picks to AD now. We traded him at the nadir of his value. Even the concept of reuniting LeBron and AD together is literally boosting AD's value right now. Like, the Warriors are probably willing to deal an unprotected 1st for him right now, which far outweighs the 2 fake 1sts that the Mavs got from the Wizards, both of which have now been used up.
