What Happened to the last 12 Summer League MVPs:

2014: Glen Rice Jr. Won Summer League MVP in 2014, but only lasted 2 seasons in the NBA Averaging 2.7 PPG

2015: Kyle Anderson: He Currently plays for the Raptors, but had a consistent career off the bench averaging close to 7 PPG.

2016: Tyus Jones: He is Currently a free agent, but as of recent started really improving his game averaging close to 12 PPG

2017: Lonzo Ball: Had promising seasons derailed by knee injuries, he was most recently traded from the Cavs to the Jazz, but the Jazz waived him so he’s not on an NBA team.

2018: Josh Hart: Became a high-energy, rebounding wing and crucial piece for the Champion New York Knicks.

2019: Brandon Clarke: Thrived as an athletic big man for the Grizzlies and had a promising career. Sadly he passed away this year, may he rest in peace.

2020: Had no Summer League because of the Bubble.

2021: Had 2 MVPs Davion Mitchell and Cam Thomas: Davion Gained a reputation as a defensive first Guard. Thomas proved himself as a dynamic scorer with several 40-point games.

2022: Keegan Murray: Emerged as a dependable starter and key contributor, averaging over 12 PPG.

2023: Cam Whitmore: He Currently plays for the Wizards, but his first 2 seasons in Houston showed a lot of promise as he averages over 10 PPG.

2024: Jalen Wilson: Another Promising player who just came off of a 7 PPG Season.

2025: Kyle Filipowski, is a really underrated center who just came off of a 12 PPG season for the Jazz

2026: Yaxel Lendeborg of the Golden State Warriors was named the 2026 NBA Summer league MVP, he is still a rookie, hopefully he has a great career.

  1. Ngl, I'm not really hopeful for Yaxel. He's 23 years old and only just got drafted. If he's only at the point of being nba-ready two years before he's supposed to hit his prime, I'm kinda doubting his future.

  2. I don’t know much about NBA but, why are these guys all the best players on bad teams or career role players? Wouldn’t the #1 overall picks be Summer MVP’s, or guys that become AllStars?
