Reacting to Jazz Warriors trade from Bleacher Report

1. Don't spice up a Monday with trade speculations… C'mon

2. You've always wanted to trade Lauri and it ain't happenin this offseason and why would we want jimmy and why would we want more picks at some point we have to just actually have good players and not just hope for good ones with future draft picks

3. This would have been a better fit while jazz were tanking. Not now.

5. Hate to say it but I disagree with this take. Lauri is part of the core that will take us to the promised land. He is our seasoned vet who will pave the way for the young guys to eventually take over while he slowly starts to step into a greater role player like role on the team. We don’t need more picks at this point. We’ve built a team to finally allow Lauri to win and go deep in the playoffs and we owe it to him to pay that off.

10. Im not concerned about aa Lauri trade,, that aint happening at this point. Not that im saying it would be a bad idea, I would ike to see Ace develop as a starter because he has the potential to be way better than Lauri. Im more concerned about them making some trades for depth. The team needs more impactful vets.

12. BS take again. You do know why Markkanen's 3 point % is down when Jazz tanks. When he shot well he got rested again and again. Shooters shoot well when they get hot and can keep it going not when they keep getting benched or forced to rest while they are in form.

13. I like this trade also. I think you could play Yaxel at the five even. I like the offensive and defensive versatility of a starting lineup of George, Peterson, Bailey, Jackson jr, and Yaxel. And when you add the cap versatility and future picks it wouid seem to be a great trade.

15. Gonna be honest the jazz are at the point that I would rather have Lauri instead of picks. If we were still tanking I would be more open to this. Especially after the Walker trade the jazz have more than enough picks they need proven players not guys that played good in summer league and are still unproven. And while Yaxel looked good you know who else looked good in summer league summer league MVP Kyle Filiposki.

16. Anti Lauri bias shining through on this one. Kinda overrating every single young player you talk about in this video HN. Don't think DP has shown anything to make me think we should drop everything and build around him yet. Ace either for that matter. Good young prospects but there is a difference between good at 19 and being an all star in the NBA. Yaxel doing anything in summer league is pretty meaningless to how he will play in the NBA, especially when he is 4 years older than the competition. You are talking about Yaxel of all people like he is a lock to be 95% of what Lauri is. That's a pretty big ask. Loading up on picks to bolster the future Ace/DP team when you aren't 100% sure those guys are going to be this utopian fantasy you think they are is not a good move.

    If after the season they've shown enough to make you feel 100% sure they will both be all stars players then fine deal LM for picks. The jump that Ace & DP would have to make to be better than LM is right now is HUGE. And quite frankly if they did make that jump then we should keep LM as that will likely mean we are a championship level roster.

    Our FO is also not good at drafting. Williams, Hendricks, WCJ all are flat out bad picks.

17. Everyone in these comments seems to think Lauri is some generational player. Hes overrated and only really good at shooting we need to get off his contract asap

I'm never thrilled about potentially trading within our own Western Conference, that being said I love Lauri Markkanen but this trade does make some sense timeline wise and when looking at our future cap problems ahead. But Im not sure if this is the best deal we could get if we were to trade Lauri Markkanen and we really need a defensive center and if we were going to trade Lauri I would hope that we would be looking to figure out our center position first. Just my thoughts 💬💭
