KC either has a short memory or a selective memory in regards to last seasons Pacers run.
The game 7 year prior during their first eastern conference run they shot 70 percent from the field and won that Game 7 in New York by double digits.
The Game 6 clinching victory the following finals playoff Run they won Game 6 in a game if Knicks won Game 7 would have been in New Yotk by double digits too.
So in back to back seasons Pacers beat New York by double digits to clinch series. How many times did You see the Knicks lose by double digits this season? Literally not once.
So not only did they win that clinch series Game 7 in New York they came back the following season and the FIRST TWO in New York. That's 3 straight Victories in the playoffs win in New York.
They beat Cleveland by 30 points with Cleveland's entire roster healthy Game 4 with the series 2-1 going back to Cleveland and we're winning by 40 points at halftime. That's not a typo either.
They were up by 30 Game 6 in Indiana to force a Game 7 after having heard literally every talking head media member say OKC would clinch it.
And id give it some credence if it happened once or even twice, but they made those Genie in A bottle 4th quarter comebacks literally every series and on the Road except the first one against Milwaukee. Literally every other double digit 4th quarter comeback was on the road including both Game 1's in New York and against OKC.
On paper there isnt anything imposing really at all about the Pacers but its been like that since their 5 eastern conference finals appearances in the 90s when the East was the FAR SUPERIOR conference.
Even the back to back eastern conference finals appearances with Paul George Lance Stephenson David West Roy Hibbert and George Hill didn't look that formidable at all on paper.
So I do give KC some slack because even I doubt they can do that again, but both those eastern conference finals runs they had made 4th quarter comebacks the entire season. .
Pacers dont just straight beat up teams like the Knicks do ill give you that. Knicks Damn near never lose to bottom tier teams since they acquired Brunson and Pacers literally every season lose to THE worst teams in the league sometimes at home even.
There is a method to Halliburton's madness. In a one and done situation there are 15 teams id have taken over Indiana both playoff runs.
But in A 7 Game series?? Halliburton legit is playing Chess while everyone else is playing checkers and is fueled by the doubt and disrespect..
Literally the season he led them to a game 7 finals appearance he was voted most overrated that same season almost right before the playoffs.
All I have to say is thank you to everyone who does that Because that dude is literally fueled and driven by those same critics.
Not a smart decision to publicly doubt or disrespect Tyrese Halliburton. You'd better off either generously compliment him or say nothing at all. Dude is fueled by both the doubt and disrespect.
Im guilty of sleeping on both Toppin and the Pacers. I always forget how impactful Obi Toppin and Tj McConnell are off the bench and how huge a role they play in the teams success
