The Morning Sprint Wonders: How Long Will This Peyton Watson Deadlock Continue?
Reports are in that the Denver Nuggets have offered Peyton Watson a deal in the ballpark of 5 years and 72 million dollars. It’s still…lower than what Watson and his agent are looking for. Coach and Raj wonder if it’s really feasible for the Nuggets to give much more than that or for Watson to ask for much more than that, considering he too had an injury-plagued season like Christian Braun. #Denver #Nuggets #NBA #Basketball #MileHighBasketball
Even before the injury cb's performance last year had fallen off a cliff. No improvement, highly tentative, in preseason and early season.
CB IS TRASH AND NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAID THAT MONEY‼️SORRY, WATSON IS BETTER THAN CB‼️‼️‼️YOU GUYS ARE DELUSIONAL‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️🤬🤬
I wish Nuggets fans would relax regarding Peyton Watson. No matter what, Management can 1) sign Peyton Watson for whatever it takes to retain him and then 2) go ahead and play out the first half of the season in the second apron with every intention of dumping salaries by maybe February to get off the second apron. That way, there will be a chance that players such as Zeke, Christian, and Aaron will have good performances in the early season to where they are a better value for possible trades. Or perhaps early injuries will change the entire calculus. There's simply no reason for management to make a panicky trade right now in fear of the second apron which can be avoided at almost any time this season. I get why you guys get into the drama of all of this, but people really ought to relax…
Here’s the difference. Braun made his money from being the highest scorer in transition off Jok outlets. His defense is overrated. He does play hard. At the time I didn’t like the $25mil deal. P. Wat in his 17 game stretch w/o Jok demonstrated something Braun hasn’t. Being able to create his own shot. It’s unfortunate he’s a RFA this offseason. I don’t see a world that P. Wat gets a favorable deal. Thanks Nuggs for years of overpaying Jamal, MPJ, and Braun a year before they hit RFA.
