Best for Warriors Fans to be “Patient” — Marc Spears

Marc Spears joins the show to break down LeBron James’ free agency decision and what it means for the Golden State Warriors, who many thought had a real shot at landing him. Spears explains why the “family angle” made Golden State feel like a logical fit — and why it never materialized. The conversation shifts into a deeper debate about roster building in the modern NBA, touching on Philadelphia’s superstar-loaded starting five and whether that formula can actually win a championship. From there, talk turns hyper-local: DeMar DeRozan’s fit in the Bay, the Warriors’ surprising dip in season ticket sales, and whether ownership is quietly preparing fans for a “post-Steph” era. Spears pushes back hard on that idea, arguing the front office should be squeezing every last drop out of the Steph Curry window rather than looking past it. The segment closes with a spirited back-and-forth on Steph’s next contract — should he take a discount to build a stronger roster around him, and is the trade deadline, not free agency, actually the Warriors’ best shot at a real upgrade?

Topics discussed include:
LeBron James’ free agency decision and why the Warriors missed out
Philadelphia’s superstar roster and whether it can actually win
DeMar DeRozan’s potential fit with Golden State
Warriors’ season ticket sales decline and fan sentiment
Steph Curry’s contract future and the “patience” strategy for the trade deadline

Do you think the Warriors should hold out for a trade deadline blockbuster, or is it time to move on from this era? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Marc just wants to keep Steph for the gravy train and nothing else. Not so sure even with Steph on a very pathetic team will put butts in the seats 😂 I also will bet that Steph with his new condition will play similar amount of games as last year.

  2. I'd say, perhaps, every warriors fans are steph curry fan. And the team keep disrespecting Steph year after year, with owner wanting to trade him, and coach not believing in him and not utilizing him properly, treating him like he's just a shooter and not the goat that he is. If curry leaves, majority of warriors fans will leave with him.
