Awoooo! Wolves After Dark is so Pumped for this season! I think we're going to be okay without a dominant PF. I think serviceable rotational role players can be just fine for us. Our perimeter is ungodly, and I dare any team to stop our guards! Jaden has been solid to great as a perimeter defender, but his safety like last help defensive prowess is what makes him unique. I think he may be best suited at the 4, honestly!
Youre not wrong but Finch already said he doesnt see Jaden starting at the 4
Hoping the increase in Slim’s off-ball defense keeps him out of foul trouble for more minutes each game 🤞
Jaden off ball as a roving 4 would be a monster. His stocks and off. rebounding numbers would spike drastically. And his offense would open up too.
We need his offensive game to improve and that's not going to happen if he's getting bullied around by bigger players on D.
The second we got rid of Julius & Naz, we should have started pumping Jaden with HGH, 'roids, etc. & add bonus of $10K for every lb. he gains.
I am really curious to see if Finch uses as consistent starting 5 or if he mixes and matches depending on matchups. It is very rare for a coach not to stick to the same starting 5 once that is established but given how the roster is currently constructed, I think that may need to be seriously considered this year.
The interesting aspect of this roster to me is how many guys will be in the rotation. Finch keeps talking about expanding it, but it inevitably drops down to 7 or 8 guys. Past the 4 sure starters, you have Ayo, Green, and Beringer seeming locked into the next 3 spots for your top 7. You would THINK TJ will finally get a consistent role as your 8th guy, but who knows. After that you got Bones, Clark, and Lyles battling for a possible 9th and 10th spot, with DDV potentially returning towards the end of the year.
Will be the first time in a while we will be interested in how training camp and preseason impacts which players end up as a starter and in the rotation.
Joan 4?
6:51 He may not be a good matchup against big, bruising PFs who fight box outs effectively, but his length and quick reactions definitely help him get to the initial bounce a lot faster and snatch rebounds out of slower players' (i.e., most players his height or taller) hands at a decent rate
On top of which, Jaden has said he prefers playing off-ball help-side defense more than playing POA defender. JJJ won DPOY without being anything special at rebounding – if Jaden can average 2+ blocks and 2-3 steals per game just from playing help defense, it's going to be revolutionary for this team
If McDaniels makes his 3s like last year, I don't think it's actually that bad offensively to see a JC, McDaniels, Gobert lineup considering lamelo and ant will be out there too. I think that can be at least league average offensively while being top 3 defensively.
Yeah.. he's 6 foot ten with an insane reach and natural defensive instincts. He had to play the 3 when he was young cause his body wasn't ready but now it is.
Plus Julius won’t be occupying his sweet spots on offense anymore
Thier plenty of film of Jmac guarding Zion and other PF. He gets destroyed 70% of the time. JS😢
Hopefully Beringer can fill that role in the next couple of years.
He can guard the 4 all day, and with the Ticket back in the building, he’s got the goat to learn from.
I worry about how effective he can be guarding guys that are 40+ pounds heavier than him, I think you lose a lot of the matchup advantage with Jaden putting him out of position. And it seems like Finch feels the same way since he's been pretty adamant he won't be playing Jaden at the 4.
The wolves will get their Hartenstein eventually. But I do think the wolves are zigging when the league is going Big, Like the wolves have been the last few years. They want to shoot over everyone now.
Shure, if he gained 40 lbs in the off-season.
Looks like it's gonna be a 45 win season if this is the plan.
ngl…..playing against the Heat, Jaden will get bodied and pushed around as a PF 🤣😂
I dont think u really understand how the wolves play defense,it doesn’t matter what position Jaden is placed at he could be listed as the 4 but he’s never gonna play power forward, he’s always no matter what gonna be the on ball defender he’ll never just play power forward and do man on man defense against his counter part that’s never gonna happen, anything involving big men and the post is Rudy’s job
Thanks! I really enjoy your videos! 🏀
The guy weights 185 pounds! 6ft 9 and weights 186 freaking pounds??? Good Lord! He would get battered in the playoffs
He can, but he shouldn't be. Like how ANT can be a "PG" but he shouldn't be.
Great title .. caught my eye indeed
The dude from federal way is a born PF . With his vortex style dunks and the like
6’9 my ahh 😅
He’s not but you can’t play a bag of potatoes
Except Zion all the other players you named Rudy guards. I think we'll get another body from the buyout market.
okay but who will 2nd PF???
When does Divenchso come back??
This is the way.
shouldve drafted a forward man
8:05 those numbers are insane. Jaden + Rudy has got to be a top tier defensive duo all time (relative to era) and 97.4 with Clark as well is psychotic
16:55 will never not make my blood boil. Ant wide open moving toward the corner and Dubious Handles just bowls ahead into triple coverage.
If those guys are cooking McDaniels defensively bring in Beringer to cool them down at PF then sign Kevin Love as our backup 5 to space the floor when Rudy sits so you can play Love and Joan together in spurts
I still wish that we would’ve went after Trey Murphy or Aaron Gordon in that order . Wendell Carter Jr would also make an interesting choice.
