Thanks guys, great podcast as always! I’m still torn about letting go of Wiggs, Zai and especially Dort 🥺. I absolutely get it from a business and even basketball perspective, but it still stings on a personal, family/brotherhood level. I’m a sentimental sap though so it is what it is. I think if Chet focuses on speeding up his shot and not letting prior injuries or Wemby’s personal grudge and attempted intimidation get to him, he’s good.
I think the Thunder have a great shot at winning the championship with the moves Sam made this offseason and yes I’m biased. I think losing to the Spurs in game 7 and being so injury riddled is fueling guys to get better…at least I hope so. Thunder Up baby 🙏🏾💙🧡
What actually happened is that they got better pieces for those same roster spots—Jared > Joe, and Ajay > Wiggins—and they needed starting time for Cason Wallace, so they also let Dort go.
He wished them the best, they get a chance to get more playing time, better $ contract and other opportunities so good for those brothers! I'll continue to cheer for them except when they face us of course.
I agree with you, Joe Sam had to make those trades.. even though they traded my man Aaron Wiggins away I know it’s the right thing to do
