DEBATE: Has Brooklyn Nets’ Offseason Been WISE Or UNDERWHELMING? Should They Have Done MORE?

1. How would you characterize the Nets' offseason? Are you happy that they are being patient? Or do you think they should have done more?

2. Underwhelming is a VERY nice way to put it. I’d go with LAZY, AND Disrespectful to Nets Fans.

   This offseason and I will include the trade for Randle in this makes no sense but hey this is Sean Marks he always oversells his teams talent and honestly thinks he is the smartest GM in the NBA.

   We went into this free agency with more potential cap-space than any other team and we left it with Mo Wagner (overpay) and Keon Ellis (Overpay).

   In order to be a playin team this year the Nets need to win 45 games. Is the team Marks has put together a 45 plus win team? Now there is still time for Marks to get his shit together but I doubt it. We now stuck in no man’s land folks. Which is not good enough to make the playin and not bad enough to get a high either which we don’t even own anyway.

3. Marks is an idiot plain and simple. There were so many Veteran players on the free agent market that would have been higher floor raises than Mo Wagner and Keon Ellis. Let’s go down the list and I’m going to use signings that we around the same amount money they gave to both these players:

   Collin sexton: 2 years 19 million
   Anfernee Simons: 2 years 12 million
   Jose Alvarado: talk about point of attack guard signed for 3 years 14 million.
   Kelly Oubre: 2 years 16.5 million shot 36 percent from 3 14 points a game.

   Jock Landale: 1 year 14 million. Jock is a Center who averages 11 points 6 rebounds and shot 38 percent from 3 point range last year. Better back center option.

   Sign three of these players say Jock, Kelly, and Sexton and you are a MUCH better with just as much future flexibility as what Marks did. You be giving Randle and MPJ more team depth to work with. And bigger needle movers

4. Underwhelming. At somepoint, the Nets have to try to put a competive team out there. Can't keep on building for tomorrow without trying to compete. These young players are being indoctrinated into a team with a losing culture from top to bottom. When are they going to go for it?

5. These unhinged comments are hilarious. None of you know anything, no one does. Talk to me 30 games into next season.

6. With respect to Wiggins, I'd keep in mind that Presti has been trained in the San Antonio front office mold. They're invested in the guys on their roster as people, and I don't think he wanted to trade them to dead-end teams. Wiggins, Dort, and Joe are all going to be playing for playoff spots next year. The Wiggins trade might not have been available for the Nets, or if it had, they might have needed to pay significantly more than Atlanta did.

7. We were expecting a lot of major moves . The draft went well , but the opportunity to trade for more picks in the 10 – 18 range of the first round didn't occur , the chance to trade for the Knicks pick in the first round was missed ( a center maybe ? ) was missed , MPJ is still here, , a lot of mediocrity from last year's picks . After watching the rest of the East get far better, mediocrity just doesn't make it . Will we become the Mets of the NBA ?

8. Our off-season was satisfactory. Not bad at all but nothing to brag about. Hope we get some clarity on mpj. If marks wits too late on him and blows it that might be the final nail. And I'm a marks guy🤦🏾‍♂️

   Afernee Simons
   Collin Sexton
   Kelly Oubre

   Pick your three. All got paid around the same money or less. All free agents. All better players than Marks brought in.

   If you have Jock, Kelly, and Alvarado coming off your bench with MPJ and Randle you are MUCH closer to a playin team.

10. Patient?? 😂 The Nets are incompetent 😂

11. The fact that as of today (8/4/26) the Nets front office has still not sat down with MPJ and his agent to make at least a TEAM FRIENDLY offer is malpractice and another confirmation of their incompetence and lack of urgency.

12. But but but "the flexibility!" The Nets are so flexible now Simone Biles would be jealous 😂 seriously, though, I wasn't expecting much. I am just perplexed why they didn't try to draft a center, especially if they had an inkling that Claxton was on the block. That sequence makes me think there wasn't much foresight in their strategy. Kind of like drafting a million guards

15. My biggest complaint was not big fishing RFA last off season. i would have loved to see jordi coach Giddey on the nets. But hey thats just me
