The Kings had a real Coach in Mike Brown and now we got a guy that doesn’t even know what the hell he is doing. Christie sucks as a head coach should be shown the door immediately…
That offense of “Beam Team” is obsolete now as it’s been studied by numerous of coaches throughout the league. Other coaches have the necessary defensive stops and coverages that can stop this offense now. That’s why Kings have so many turnovers it’s not simple as the defense hedges the man receiving hence why the Kings keeps running in circles wasting their shot clock which also does lead to the resetting too many times on the play. Their opponents adjustments as well attacks many of the off ball guys to force easier matchups causing the kings to rely too much on ISO shrinking their playing field. I guess no one watches how the Kings plays work and not to throw shade, but also including media. You can even learn their playbook on NBA2k26 and know it’s extremely difficult to execute and it wastes a lot of time when the play is set. Mike Brown has evolved from this experience as well and he’s made the adjustments that favors their players strengths hence why the Knicks won the chip. All teams now are focused on a high tempo fast action plays where they can space the floor more effectively where their DHOs are a fast screen and go action where the DHO big slips underneath to the 3 or he can fake run into paint to draw the defense leaving wing shooters on the perimeter compared to Kings static DHO wait and bait offense where one guy stands in the corner wasted and gets trapped or static offense where no one runs to the DHO forcing an ISO that’s outdated because the Big also can’t be a threat from perimeter. If Doug Christie wanna keep the job as a coach he’s gonna need to learn how to fly quick. ISO offense should not be the way to go going into this upcoming season. The Kings need to move the ball more and communicate more and coaching needs to also get a whole lot better. Developmental training needs to get better. The defense needs an uplift greatly as the Kings should be playing more of their wing depth against longer opponents. Everyone especially also needs to get better especially Keegan and Maxine. Your 2 old vets should not be carrying the entire offense upon themselves as they are not your long term options.
