We Couldn’t Agree On Who’s Better Between The Raptors and Celtics

Does the Raptors offseason give them the edge over the Celtics?

  1. Celtics did get worse on paper and raptors got better. Celtics just get this insane benefit of the doubt for what? Cool they got 2nd seed last year. Isnt the entire argument against the pistons not being #1 again due to the east being better and many less teams are trying to lose? Makes no sense. Raptors have the better team on both ends of the court. What made Boston formidable was the prospect of JB and JT being two players that you had to put your best defender on. Nobody is scared of Paul George. He will not see coverages that JB was seeing.

  2. I don’t get what the argument is. The ceiling for both is likely a 2nd round exit. If the whole Kawhi thing works out Toronto has a chance, Boston’s ceiling is literally a win in the 1st round, just to get crushed in the 2nd round

  3. Yall lost me at the strength debate. Scottie fs stronger than both tatum and pg. Pg will get overwhelmed with the strength downhill and get into foul trouble quick tings.

  4. I think the Celtics floor is one of the highest you could get even after the trade. They got the 2nd best Offence with a worse playmaker in JB leading the charge, and major flaws in the roster. Now theyll have Tatum, PG13, White, and Pritchard which are all high efficiency 3pt shooters on volume.

I do think their loss of JB made thier cieling plummet to the basement though. I dont think their heights are as high as other teams. But its not like this will be their final roster. This is more of a re-evaluation year until they can move assets to get a player that can really be the secondary offensive engine for the team long term.

There was no trade for JB that would've returned something truly comparible to his talents. We will need to see a few games from Tatum to really know how the season will go.

  5. The Celtics glaze is ridiculous. On paper, the raptors are better, don’t overthink it. JT is the only person on the Celtics that can make a difference and if kawhi or Scottie is guarding him? They’re getting snuffed out

  6. Shout out to Joel since this years playoffs you have been speaking my language!!! I say Raptors better provided this Kawhi thing goes through. The Scottie vs Tatum match up probably determines the series which i think Scottie wins there. Defense hes gonna lock Tatum up and on offense hes gonna body him too. CMB though i dont think will start for us but he by far will be the best Big in the series. Ps. CMB not even a big hes really a forward playing out of position

  7. These guys don’t know shit about the raptors or Scottie. That boy one of the strongest players in the league and routinely outmatches many team’s centers 😂😂 clueless Americans, PG would get cooked like BBQ chicken if he was forced to guard Scottie 1v1 single coverage

  8. The Celtics can easily have a better regular season record than the Raptors, but their play style remains consistent, so it might be easier to pick apart in the playoffs.
The Raptors will use more of the Regular season to develop the younger guys, and then in the playoffs you'll see the shift the in play.

  9. What if Tatum can't function into a number 1 option without a secondary scorer as lethal as Jaylen Brown. JB can drive into the basket to draw defenders and open up the floor for the rest of his teammates. JT doesn't have that capabilities especially after the surgery. And I don't think PG and White is enough to open up Tatum's game similar to what JB does.
