Are the Miami Heat REALLY the 11th-Best Team in the East?!

Are the Miami Heat REALLY the 11th-Best Team in the East?!

How do the Miami Heat actually match up with the best teams in the Eastern Conference? Wes Goldberg and David Ramil begin a two-part series breaking down Miami’s positional matchups against the East’s top contenders.

First, they react to Michael Pina ranking the Heat 11th in the Eastern Conference and his concerns about the spacing around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. Are those concerns legitimate, or has the skepticism about Miami’s offense gone too far?

Then they go matchup-by-matchup against the Boston Celtics. How do Davion Mitchell, Andrew Wiggins, Bam and Giannis stack up against Boston’s loaded lineup? Finally, they turn to the New York Knicks and examine the challenges of defending Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns—and where Miami might have advantages of its own.

  1. Wiggs is so underrated…he's a better scorer than BAM..Powell..and Tyler..he's just not a gun..but they gonna need his elite scoring ability for sure..being Tyler and Powell are gone..wiggs has over 15k pts..18.2 career average going into his 13 year..in the words of spo.."That's not nothing

  2. Remember when every Heat fan insisted Wiggins didn’t like it here in 2025? Remember when every Heat fan wanted to trade Powell AND Wiggins by the trade deadline in 2026? Now all the sudden Wiggins is the solution?! 😂😂😂

  3. What are the chances that the Heat defense is a tad below the Pistons this past year and they are a top 3 seed. Because the pistons offense is not what gave them 60 wins ?

  4. The Heat should be at worst a top 5 defense with Giannis on their team. If they can be an average offense, which is very possible with a top 5 offensive player in Giannis and a floor raiser like Spo, they have a similar recipe as the Pistons who won 60 games. I don't see how if Health is equal you would say that the Heat would end 11th.

  5. As much as I loathe sports gambling, I think the odds are a much better metric than analyst's rankings, people will give wild takes for clicks, but the oddmakers are doing everything they can to be on point and make money

  6. East is much much better than last year. If Giannis misses notable time, that would be bad for the heat. If he is healthy, they could be 2-7 range.

  7. Milwaukee had a losing record when Giannis played (17-19)…11th may be a little low but we may be closer to that than 6th…As currently constructed

  8. I’ve been listening to you guys every day for if I’m not mistaken five years

If I was to ever meet one of you in person, I would easily act like a fanboy and people would think that you guys were celebrities by my reaction

You guys are amazing. Keep up the good work thanks for not being overly biased like the Boston dingers.

  9. Giannis is missing 20 games. So that means if the Heat win EVERY SINGLE GAME GIANNIS PLAYS, their record is 42-40. Also reminder, Giannis plays 30 minutes a night & the Heat have NO BACKUP BIG, so how are the Heat doing in those 18 minutes without Giannis even in games he does play?

  10. This is why I follow locked on Heat you guys are professionals to the max and yet the flow is so chill. Appreciate the hard work guys and keeping me updated on the offseason news and drama

  11. Well we haven't seen a lot of these teams play yet with all the changes. My guess is 6-11 will beat tight so some really good team could fall out of the playoffs. It's all speculation until we see the teams actually in action

  12. I have been dying to point out the hypocrisy. Before the trade all four players on the Miami HEAT were looked at as not good enough for Giannis. They're not that valuable, they haven't proven themselves in the playoffs, they are not worth it etc. etc…. now here we are after the trade. All of a sudden Miami has no depth. All of a sudden Miami traded away everything. It's absurd. Of course they were good solid players of course they were part of Miami's depth, but they were not good enough to help get Miami out Of The play in tournament. So spare me if I'm not completely moved by the argument that Miami traded away it's depth, traded away everything. Nobody thought these players were strong enough before the trade, now all of a sudden they're so good that loosing them means Miami won't even make the playoffs. Patently ridiculous.
